ATASCOCITA - A motorcycle accident claimed the life of a young man Friday evening.

Authorities say witnesses reported that the victim, whose name was not immediately available, was riding a silver Suzuki motorcycle westbound on FM 1960 near Moonshine Hill at a very high rate of speed around 10:15 p.m. April 16.

“He apparently side-swiped a car, and the impact then pushed him into the back of a small SUV,” said Atascocita Volunteer Fire Department spokesman Bob Kelshaw.

The victim, who Kelshaw said appeared to be in his early 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.

Preliminary information indicated the victim was wearing motorcycle gear.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.

Re: Speed a factor in motorcycle fatality

My prayers go out to the young man and family, and the drivers of the cars, it will be hard on them as well.
