Re: BMW Club of Houston Annual Rally

You got my attention. I had to do some looking,,,,, and I found it. I went to the First Annual South Central US BMW rally in 1971 and I won the trophy for the oldest BMW there. I even rode my sidehack rig to the rally ,that I seem to remember was at Lake Belton.(????) I didn't keep the complete trophy but I did peel off the engraved plackard and threw the rest of the trophy away as it was so large. Lordy, lordy how the time flys. I guess I "ought" to make this rally too. Anyone else into making memories? HB

While you're in town, you might want to check out the Stanzel Model Aircraft Museum. Most unusual.

HB, I have never been to this rally. Lee and I were looking for a mid October rally. This looks like the ticket.

Re: BMW Club of Houston Annual Rally

I went a few years ago in Smithville and had a great time, met some fine folks and did very well in the events too.

But, I've just sold my K75S over the past weekend.

Wonder if they'll let me ride with the DS bikes if I ride in on a KTM?

Edit: Oh heck, just noticed the dates. Already have plans. Maybe next year. Have fun in the 'burg.

Being a new BMW rider, this sounds like a fine way to meet some great people. I'll have to see what my schedule looks like for the month.

Re: BMW Club of Houston Annual Rally

That's this weekend!

Lots going on at the rally and with this weekend's rain expect some greener riding (but still no water crossings.) GPX files for the GS ride are available. PM me or GSer.

I have to lead a campout to the hill country this weekend. Maybe next time.

Re: BMW Club of Houston Annual Rally

My chances crept up slightly. But I'd come out Saturday morning.
