May the God of peace grant your Dad healing, wisdom for the docs, and for each of you, a peace that surpasses all understanding.

Re: Please pray for my parents

Sorry, been a busy day at work and I forgot to get back to this. He called this afternoon. Basically, all the major arteries of the heart are in really good condition. There was one minor artery that had a "kink" but no apparent foreign blockage. The probe can measure flow pressure. So they measured upstream and downstream of the kink and there was flow restriction. So they decided to go ahead with a stent there. That was it. They are keeping him over night for observation and will evaluate him in the morning. If this was the cause, he should see virtually an immediate improvement. Assuming nothing unexpected happens during the evaluation, he should be home sometime tomorrow.

Thanks for all the prayers!

Re: Please pray for my parents

They are keeping Dad another day. There is a marked improvement just
from the one stent, but he is still not where they want him to be. So
they want to extend the stent in the same artery where the first stent
was placed. So it is another night at the hospital before he can come
home. He doesn't like sitting around in hospitals, drives him nuts,
hehe. They did confirm that ALL of the other arteries look really
good, so once this is done, he should be good to go for many more
years. Please pray the second procedure goes as smooth as the first
and that it totally takes care of the problem. Thanks!

Good news, Scott, even with the second stent. Now we just have to get him back to his old self.

Re: Please pray for my parents

Okay... Second procedure is done. Doc decided to leave well enough alone after giving a good looking over, so no second stent. The plan now is to wait a few weeks and see how Dad feels. Part of the issue may be that his reduced activity the last few months because of this problem has caused him to lose his "normal" level of stamina. So hopefully, with this resolved, he will get back to that level with some regular exercise and his normal activities. If not, then they will look for issues in places other than the heart, like respiratory system issues. He should get to come home tomorrow morning.
