Re: Lake Conroe / Livingston / Sam Houston

I'm not familar with the area, but have been wanting to explore it myself. Do you plan on riding the trails or just the forest roads? I don't have a sticker yet but you can get them at cycle shack north. What time do plan on starting? I would be coming from Baytown when and where would you like to meet? Paul

Re: Lake Conroe / Livingston / Sam Houston

Hi Paul, I actually have done the forest roads and enjoyed it a lot (although not recently). I am not so much into the dirt bike stuff. What bike to you have?
I have a map published by https://www.madmaps.com/roadtrips/ge...---houston,-tx There are two loop routs that I was considering. 1. Starts from Magnolia - 149 - 244 - 3090 - Navasota - 1774 - back 2. Montgomery - 1097 - coldsprings - 156 - 190 Huntsville - 1791 - back. These are all paved roads. What do you think?

I've got to work or I'd join you, that route should be a good one, I've ridden all of them.

Depending on what time you are at the 244/3090 intersection you might want to head up 244 just north of HWY 30 for lunch at Yankee's, one of the best burgers around. Or there is the City Hall Cafe on 1791 about 8 miles south of HWY 30.

I love it. I'd like to get an 800 XC but I'm not willing to give up Betty for a new one.

With y'all meeting at 10:00, Yankee's will be right at lunch time and there should be a ton of bikes there or they will be rolling in while you are there. There is also a cafe just to the west of the 149/90 intersection in Anderson that is pretty good too.

With it being Saturday, be sure and watch your speed in Montgomery. They purchase new patrol cars with money from speeding bikes.

Great ride today, Paul, hope to do it again. Maybe we can get a group of dual sport riders and balance the number of Harley's over at Yankees.

Just saw this, if you're running FM roads or dirt roads in the SHNF/Huntsville area drop me a pm. I'd love to tag along.

That's the idea! I don't have an exact route but between a map and a gps, I think we can have fun. Let's plan on this Saturday

I see some interested in riding this weekend. I may be available to ride this coming Sunday, can do trails on my 250 or FM roads on my GS. What's the plan?

Re: Lake Conroe / Livingston / Sam Houston

My original plan was for Saturday morning, so I think I stick to that. As far as the route I have a few thoughts like riding from lake Livingston to Conroe on forest roads. If you have any ideas please share. Fernando, we can certainly consider Sunday rides as well.

Details and see if I can make it! Sounds good to me, more backroads the better.
