Stolen: Wr250x Booooooo
Hey guys. The bike in my avatar was stolen from me last night. They still have to cut off the u-lock but in case you see a blue and black wr with FMF exhaust, feel free to give em the business.
Thanks TWT. Here's a picture: http://www.twtex.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71994 Man, she was such a good looking and functional, fun bike. I'm really bummed out. I didn't think of it until the police officer asked me when it was stolen, but I took a moment just last freakin night to stare at it and how beautiful the bike was. When I was on my way to the car this morning she was gone. Last edited by Htown87; 05-10-2012 at 09:50 AM. Reason: My grammar is terrible when I'm upset apparently. |

WTH!!!!
Thats really sucks Kyle. At least you got a couple good rides on it and got it nice and dirty at Bastrop. Did it get stolen with the mud still on it? Hope you were fully insured and get a quick insurance settlement to buy another bike soon. _

Htown does stink. I hope they find the bike and the sack of excrement that took it. Maybe he can get ventilated in the process

Re: Stolen: Wr250x Booooooo
Yeah. So lame of them.
It is insured so thats good. But I'll be out my 500 dollar deductible plus however hard they chose to screw me on the mods. I had some big plans for that $$$$$ (knobbies for one). I'm honestly considering parking my next bike inside. Thanks for the sentiment guys. |

Re: Stolen: Wr250x Booooooo
So sorry man, that's a fine bike and I hate you lost it. I ride one that looks very much like it, so nobody clobber me...
Seriously dude, I hope this can somehow turn out good for you in the end, and bad for the loser that took your ride. |

If you don't mind a 700 mile fly and drive, as of two weeks ago this dealer still had one of these left brand new for only $5,999

So sorry to hear about the theft, Kyle. I guess that this happens to all or most of us over a long period of time, but it is still a real bummer. Keep us posted on what you want to buy and we can help find something for you.

Re: Stolen: Wr250x Booooooo
Two bikes stolen from me. I presume you live in an apartment complex? Do they have garages available? Are there any other motorcyclists in your complex with bikes parked outside you could split the cost of a garage with?
This worked out very well for me. Apartment complex had a waiting list for garages and I'd already had one stolen. Second night I was there I got a knock on the door at about 9pm, some strange guy. I opened the door and he wanted to know if I had the yellow and black Suzuki out there? My stomach went into a knot. I said "Um, yea..." He responded with "I ride a Honda 954 that I have in my garage, that's all that's in there so there's room for one more bike. If you want to split the garage fee, I'd be happy to give you the code and let you park it in there because it would kill me if something happened to it parked out there." My wife was nervous but I pointed out that he was the one with something to lose by giving me access to his garage. Turned out to still be one of my best friends today. We ultimately ended up with two garages side by side with four people's bikes in them. Good times wrenching out there! Good luck on the recovery...but I wouldn't hold my breath. Neither of mine were recovered. Good luck on the insurance, remember to do some research and challenge their offer because they WILL lowball you. Ask for the CCC report and then check out those comparables because sometimes they don't compare at all. At worst, I bet you can get them to come up at least $500 on value...which will put you at least even steven no deductible from their original offer. After my crash the offer I got was a slap in the face. Checking the CCC report one of the comparibles didn't even have any mileage listed. How can you say that this vehicle compares to mine? It could have twice the miles mine had. Five times even! Do some research on this. About an hour of reading will have you ready to talk to the adjuster. And then...good luck on the next bike. Looking forward to seeing pictures of it.

Re: Stolen: Wr250x Booooooo
This is a good call. I've never had a bike stolen before so I'm not really sure of all the tips and tricks. I'll do my research. I've complied a short excel list of similar bikes for sale in the area, there aren't many.
