Tomball Suzuki Dealer experience #2

So I saw a 2007 WR450 FS in front of Tomball Suzuki and I stopped in to check it out. Kind of ruff but I decided to go inside and ask what the asking price was. I was told with a straight face the price was "$5199 plus TT&L. I laughed all the way to my car. Now this the the same Tomball Suzuki that ask for my SS number what I took my M109 in for a service. Needless to say I have been a little gun shy since they asked for my SS just to service my bike but I thought after 3 years Tomball Suzuki would have gotten better, but I guess this was not the case. KBB Retail on this bike is $3500. Buyer Beware of Tomball Suzuki!!!!!!

I requested a quote from them online for a new 2012 DRZ400S and NEVER got a response. I am never going there again. There are too many shops with exceptional service.

Re: Tomball Suzuki Dealer experience #2

I checked them out a couple of years ago after I bought my M109. Didn't get a good feeling from them. Nothing specific, just not a good vibe. If you need Suzuki items, I've had good luck with Polaris West in Katy.

Last time I was there, they did not know what a "V-Strom" was. Haven't been back since...

Let me add Plano Kawasaki Suzuki to your list. They suck at customer service across 2 brands.

My best one there was when I asked if I could test ride a bike. "Only if you commit to buying it first" I was told. "Not really a test ride then is it?" The 14 year old salesman looked at me blankly!

Bad Customer Service from Service Dept at Mainland Kawasaki. And all the employees there are related. General Manager's father is the Service Dept. Manager and multiple mechanics are sons and step-sons.

Same here, Cycle Shack North has been a steady and reasonable dealer for me.

Long time ago I had a friend whose family ran a dealership tell me, "All dealers suck, but their customers suck even more."

Don't shoot the messager.

First, I don't know any of the dealers in which this thread has been referring.

That said, I would have to add not one of us are perfect - not one. So if you made some small percentage of people mad at you for any reason as I am most certain we have all had - would you want to see those people rag about you on the internet? I think not.

Also, if those dealers are 100% dirtbags to more people (customers/prospects) than not, I am certain they would not be in business today. Bad businesses have a habit of dying an early death.

Just a thought.

Re: Tomball Suzuki Dealer experience #2

I agree the the last post however Tomball Suzuki is outright a swindler. Asking for a Social Security Number when I took my bike in for service is just plain wrong. Any dealer has a right to set any asking price on bike they sell and people do talk and pass along bad info. Tomball Suzuki is open from 12 noon to 6p Tuesday thru Friday. This proves that their days are truly numbered. RIP TOMBALL SUZUKI.

Re: Tomball Suzuki Dealer experience #2

Ive lived here for all of my 30 years and never had a good service or parts or experience at Suzuki of Tomball. If you were to go somewhere around here for service work where would you recommend? I would like to have some carb work done on my DRZ400 but don't want to get charged a ton or have to leave it for a month. I called Cycle Shack North today to get a price on a battery and they put me on hold for 17 minutes before I had the since enough to hang up and call else where. I can only hope their service is better than their parts department.
Thanks
Matt

Re: Tomball Suzuki Dealer experience #2

Dealer-bashing thread?? Oh, I'm in!

Woods Fun Center (Austin) = major suckage.

Wife spent 45min tooling around in there wasting time waiting on me to show up. Totally ignored. Not one salesman approached her. I get there and the guy meets me in the parking lot when I'm barely out of the car. I've had a couple more experiences like that and refuse to go back.

Central Texas Powersports (Georgetown) = more suckage.

I loved them before they moved and added bicycles to their inventory. Then they turned into Woods Fun Center, Jr. Called to check on a part and on hold for 12 minutes. Several times the receptionist offered to take my name and have them call me back. I declined each time because I had things to do and didn't want to sit with the phone in my hand waiting on a call. Finally someone answers. I tell them what I'm looking for and I'm told, "I'll take your number and have them call you back". I told her I didn't want a call back, I needed to talk to someone. She said "sir, they're busy right now and I can't have you waiting on hold". I go up there (turns out the last person I talked to was in accessories....like jackets and such) and it took all of 3 minutes to check availability and order the part.

Then I find a bike online I want to check out. I send a "call me" request on their website on Monday. By Tuesday, no call so I driver 30 miles to check it out. Don't see it on the lot so I left. I called when I got home (and cooled down) and it was sold on Thursday. They never took it off the website.

I'm running out of dealerships in the Austin area.

Re: Tomball Suzuki Dealer experience #2

We just got Burned by Tomball Suzuki. Literally!
We had a running 650 we brought in for a noise. It worked fine, it was just a rattle.
They said they would find and repair the noise, it would be $650 down, and 650 when done. they took our money and our bike, We never saw our bike again. Its been a year and a half and we went to court to get our bike and money back. The owner was served by the constable and didnt appear in court 2 mos ago. Today we were informed our bike went up in flames. To bad so sad, that we need to now send them the title for them to give to there insurance. We are so screwed. Please dont use this place, save your self the pain, anguish and loss of bike and money.
