Happy Trail panniers coated in multi colors
The customer wanted coating that Happy Trails wouldn't do.
White inside to increase visibility down in the dark hole. Gloss yellow lids with clearcoat. Low gloss black main bodies. The tie downs on the lids are done in black to match the lower bodies. All reassembled with nice shiny new rivets. ![]() ![]() Another happy customer. Now all he needs is a bunch of decals from places he rides it to. |

Re: Happy Trail panniers coated in multi colors
I've been thinking about painting mine white to keep them cooler....

Re: Happy Trail panniers coated in multi colors
The white interior is a great idea. Although in this case a yellow interior would have achieved the same objective and been more color coordinated.

Re: Happy Trail panniers coated in multi colors
I have some of the bare aluminum BMW GS Adventure cases. They have plastic pieces on the corners. Could you powder coat something like that?
I really like the idea of powder coating the insides.

Re: Happy Trail panniers coated in multi colors
They actually have plastic on the seal areas. Here is a picture.

Re: Happy Trail panniers coated in multi colors
I'm not first hand familiar with the BMW boxes, but you'd have to have all the plastic off down to bare aluminum before I could coat them. The heat from curing the powder would damage the plastic. From the picture, it looks like just pop rivets holding it on ?

Re: Happy Trail panniers coated in multi colors
Marty, thank you so much for the crash bar pictures. I have a bunch of them inbound from the manufacturer that I am to coat like yours. They'll be happy to see pics of what they're getting.
