Knight Designs 1" Lower Footpegs
Broncsrule asked me about the Knight Designs footpegs I mentioned in my sig. Here are the requested pics (sorry for the delay). I love the footpegs.........they look OEM (in my opinion) and allow my legs an extra 1" of room. My knees now fit nicely into the tank cutout. I'm 6' 3" tall, so the extra room was huge.

Re: Knight Designs 1" Lower Footpegs
They look nice, but instead of spending $140, you could have just flipped the stock peg mounts arounds 180 degrees, and lowered the pegs about 1 1/2" which only takes about 20 minutes. I did this a long time ago, as well as making a new shift linkage rod and new shift lever mounting bracket to allow me to reposition the shift lever for boot clearance with the lowered pegs, and I'm very happy with it, and I'm 6' 2".

Scott, do you sell these parts? I have tried to flip the stock pegs but cannot get my foot in the right position to shift.

Re: Knight Designs 1" Lower Footpegs
one other irritation to flipping the peg mounts is reduced clearance to the kickstand tang , I've accidentally stabbed the gear shift lever down trying to hit it more than once

Re: Knight Designs 1" Lower Footpegs
Yeah... me too. That's another reason I switched them back to the stock position. I couldn't figure a good way to fix that without cutting that tang. So I installed the Buell pegs and they work pretty well, but they are not as comfy as the stockers...and they seem a little less sturdy.

Re: Knight Designs 1" Lower Footpegs
I've never had that problem.

Re: Knight Designs 1" Lower Footpegs
I did that MM reverse conversion about 40 or so thousand miles ago. I also shorten and re adjusted the shift lever about 1 inch. Only thing that changed for me was when standing on the pegs , I have to angle my right heel out a bit to clear the exhaust guard.

Re: Knight Designs 1" Lower Footpegs
I had a frustrating problem after installing my new pegs and adjusting the shift lever to a lower position. The kickstand tang was in the way of my boot when shifting, so I went to my auto mechanic, asked him to heat up the kickstand tang with a torch and then (per my request) he bent it forward with a large wrench. Take a look at my first picture at the beginning of this thread. You can see that when the kickstand is down, the tang is pointing further forward than usual. Therefore when the kickstand is up, the tang is actually pointing further down than usual. That little bit of extra room solved the problem for me.

How did you shorten the shift lever? Cut it, weld it, and then re-chrome it?
