Going solo to Arkansas soon and was looking for some any can't miss spots south of IH40 and west of Hwy 7.
Scenic, good food, etc...

Re: Ouachita National Forest
Find a town called Jasper. Anything within 100 miles of there is some of the best stuff I have ever ridden when it comes to riding on the edges of the tires. Find PushMountain Rd just NE of Jasper and ride it over and over. I usually unload in Hot Springs and take 7 north to Jasper. Great pavement, consistent radius corners and lots of elevation changes. Watch for the elk herd in Boxley. Do a google for Jasper Disaster Motorcycle Ride. 300 corners in 56 miles or something like that.

Re: Ouachita National Forest
Mt. Nebo is just South of Dardanelle -- take some time to simply sit and look. And I really enjoy the overlook on the East end of Petit Jean.
If passing thru Mena, a ride down Ark. 375 thru "Dallas" to Shady is great. All gravel roads after that, but it worth the turn-around and ride back.

Re: Ouachita National Forest
If 'n gravel is OK, continue Southeast from the end of Ark 375 to Little Missouri Falls -- among the best of the Ouachita National Forest.

Re: Ouachita National Forest
Sorry JSB. I thought you said east of 7. You do need to make it up to Jasper though. Pig Trail Scenic Byway is in the area of Mount Magazine.
