WTB - Yamaha XT225/XT250

I'm looking for a Yamaha XT225 or XT250. Anybody got one they'd sell, or wife/girlfriend doesn't ride anymore? Please let me know.

Thanks,
tom

Anyone...

Anyone...

Bueller?

Come on, surely someone has one for sale, or knows of one. I promise I'll take good care of it. I'm looking to spend up to $3k if that helps.

We stopped by Dennis Leggett's Cycle shop in downtown Juaquin, NE Texas last Saturday. He has a XT250 with 800+ miles for sale at $2500. Phone 936-269-3394. Mrs. SwampFox sat on it, but she sez she's sticking with her sidecar rig for now.

Re: WTB - Yamaha XT225/XT250

I want something small with a low seat height. I've had a drz400, I was never comfortable on it, and it wasn't comfortable to ride. Does anyone have a DS that is comfortable, or am I asking too much? Maybe I should go with a CBR250 or the new Ninja250...

Tom, I'm a short fellow. It seems XT250 might be more comfortable than my lowered '06 KLX250. The seat is wider -- and I could reach the ground with both feet of my 30" legs.

Re: WTB - Yamaha XT225/XT250

Yeah, I've been researching a bit. I like that it's air cooled, lighter, doesn't use shims, has better ground clearance than some, and still has a low seat height. I have a 98 Goldwing, and I just want to downsize. It will be my only bike, so it will have to do it all.

The 2013 XT250's will fuel injected.

I'm holding out for the XTW250 - assuming it becomes a reality and assuming it comes to the USA:

Re: WTB - Yamaha XT225/XT250

If you're looking for low seat height and reliable transportation, you're looking at the right bikes, IMO. I have an xt225 and my dad just got an xt250. My bike is really too small for me, but I'm saving it in case my wife/daughter want to get into riding. I really love mine, and my dad has a gerat time with his 250. There was a guy in San Antonio selling his 225, I think. I think I saw it on Craigslist a week or two ago. I'm always seeing these things on Craigslist. Good luck!

Re: WTB - Yamaha XT225/XT250

It's a little far to go for an XT. A fly and ride works for most bikes, but I don't have the time to take back roads home from Pennsylvania.

I forget that not everyone lives in the Great State.
