Looking for carb service '97 GFS1200 Bandit

My nephew let the bike sit for 4 years with gas in it. I've smelled some rotten gas before; but, nothing like this. Long story short, the carbs are in a real bad way and need to be cleaned and probably repaired. If it was just a routine cleaning, I could do it myself but this is going to take time and a lot of effort. Since I travel for work, spare time isn't something I have much of. So, does anyone know of a good place I could take/send the carbs to that would do a good job? I've searched around on the Internet and found some places, but would like to find someone who's had experience with this. Just to give you an idea how bad they are, the throttle won't even turn because the butterfly valves are stuck.

With all that going to have to be replaced and worked on, I'd do a good dealer. The work would be warranted a bit that way.

I wonder if Stubb's Suzuki is still happening in Houston. Back in the late '70's , when I was racing a '77 Suz GS750 with an 810 Yosh kit in it, I use to get lots of transmission parts from them.

Stubbs was still open last time I was in there back at the beginning of the year. Most dealers these days won't touch a bike over 10 years old; not sure if that's Stubbs policy. I found a used set of carbs off of a recently running bike that are going to be cheaper than trying to get the ones currently on the bike cleaned and repaired (if they can be). They can generally be brought back to life. This **** ethanol gas does not take well to sitting around and sucks up moisture like a sponge. This leads to lots of fuel system damage. I think there's a product out there for storage other than storage specifically for ethanol fuel. We are working on a Goldwing 1500 right now that had sat since 2006 with ethanol fuel in it. The inside of the gas tank looked like the inside of a battleship that sat at the bottom of the ocean for a decade. We should have the carbs out of it tomorrow for a through teardown and cleaning.

Anyone know if STABIL will keep Ethanol gas good for a year?

Good luck with the Bandit. Those bikes are probably some of the best do it all torque monster bikes out there.

Thanks. I believe I saw a bottle of Stabil for Ethanol gas at Autozone; it's a different color (bluish-green) than the redish color of the regualr Stabil.
