SOLD....2006 KTM 950

SOLD...
2006 KTM 950 Adventure......27,370 miles......
STILL AVAILABLE! Lower price
Bike located in Fort Worth, TX. Clear Title in hand.
Contact through e-mail please via the site.
NO TRADES
NEW LOWER PRICE
2 NIGHTS AT MY CABIN FREE WITH PURCHASE OF THIS BIKE..see my sig line for info

Original Owner, Bike purchased new in June of 2007.
This 950 has been ridden offroad but never thrashed. There are a few scratches, dings and such as would be expected for a big dual sport that has seen a few travels. All blemishes are the result of low-speed tumbles when I ran out of leg. The stock skid plate is cracked but functional. I removed the lower portion of the tank decals due to bubbling. There is still a bit of adhesive residue but it can be removed with a little scrubbing. The bike has always been garaged and occasionally washed.

Canisterectomy, blanking plates done when purchased.
TKC 80's Front and Rear
Maintenance work in last 100 miles, completed late August:
Valves Adjusted to Spec
Carb Synch
New Plugs
New Air filter
Coolant flush
Brakes Bled
Oil Changed (Mobil 1 Synthetic)

Extras Installed or on hand with sale:
FMF Pipes
Evoluzione Billet Slave Cylinder
Stenhouse Racing Extended Front Axle
Neduro Double-Take Mirrors
Hillslamer Extended Footpegs (stock pegs also)
High Fender and Brake Line (never installed--brand new)
2 Seats...Low Gel on the bike. Orange S model Seat included
Touratech Rear Luggage Rack
3 Windscreens...Stock on bike. Large Touring Screen (alien), and Cut-down
stock screen included.
BMW Type 12V Accessory Plug installed in glove box. Will throw in double
cigar-type adaptor.
KTM Tank Bag..well used but functional

Chris, what are you replacing it with. I'd be interested but I'm in the process of relocating to Washington.

Hey Mike,
Have a R1150RT in Washington that I will pick up end of the month. Decided to go small for a future South America trip so letting the 950 go. Hope to outfit a KTM 690 for the trip next year. Have my heart set on an 07 R1200S....maybe soon.
New house needs some bikes in the garage. I am putting up my KTM 625SXC for sale here in a couple of days. Where in Washington are you moving?

Re: 2006 KTM 950

I know this is kinda of a crazy question but oh well, here I go....
What really breaks on the these big v-twins? I had so many small
nagging issues with my Xb12X (oil leaks, expensive HD services) at
less than 20k miles on it just makes me wonder what buying an older
higher miles liquid cooled twin bike could cost to keep running? I
talked to a KTM dealer last week about it on a 990 SMT with higher
miles and the dealer said "nothing break's" on these bikes. Has this
been your experience? I had one Duc and one BMW and they both
were out of my pay grade just getting the routine services done....

Outside of a simple oil leak, a small crush washer replacement, i have had no issues with this bike. The mileage is not high at 27k. I have a friend with over 80k on his 950 with no serious issues. Do the routine maintenance and issues should be minimal.

AntWare pulled his down at 88,000 because we didn't know how long it would go. The cam chains needed replacement, still had cross-hatch on the cylinders, and the rings were a little gummy.

CycleTown had just had a tech come back from LC8 school, so they rebuilt it for the experience. They replaced bearings, oil pump, and rings. It now has over 100,000 miles and is ridden DAILY. And ridden hard.

Yeah its **** on rear tires, and the oil changes are kind of a *****, but NOTHING puts a smile on your face like the 950.
