I'm back from vacation and ready to deal.







Mostly stock, with the additions of:
Wind wings

Pannier rack horn covers
Tall (22"? 25"?) Rifle windscreen
Gustavson short "sport" windscreen
Murph's tipover bars (front only)
Murph's peg lowering kit
Convertibars
Pillion backrest

Original luggage is included; I have bolted on a Pelican topcase which usually gets used for camera gear. The stock rear "rack" and cover plate are included.

If you are familiar with this bike, you know it provides some great protection in cooler weather; I've ridden it comfortably down to 40 degrees or so without any special winter gear. I have had it about 3 years and put 5 or 6 thousand miles on it, mostly in a couple of long distance rallies a year. Now that I have the Super Tenere, it is unlikely to be ridden.

Still got mine. 2001 and it just passed 24,000 miles. I only use it for commuting to work.

FYI, the rear turn signals are wired as extra running lights for extra visibility.

Looks like we both ended up with big dual sports after the Z.

What YoDoc said...figure just over 40 real-world. Of course with the 7-gallon tank you'll usually "have" to stop before the bike needs to!

Agreed. 250 miles was not a problem. 275 if I rode conservatively, and I think I got close to 325 miles on a single tank one time. My riding now is 22 miles each way at about 70-80 mph for 17 miles of it. I fill up once a week and usually wind up putting 4 - 4.5 gallons in it.

Sounds like a good deal. Not quite financially "ready" to buy yet, but if you still havnt sold within next few weeks, i will be in the market for a new bike. Been considering the sport touring styles lately...its either that or crotch rocket for me. but ST style may be more logical for what id like to do in the long run.

Connie owner here for the last 7 years. This bike is perfect to extend your riding season through the winter months in Texas. You will have to get a wing to find this kind of wind protection.
