Back in the 80s they were sometimes called rice racers too. Big deal. Crotch rocket isn't derogatory.

Re: Cruiser question

I think crotch rocket is somewhat derogatory. But usually only used by the ignorant. I know I used to call them that, before I got into motorcycles...

I was going to ask what "they" would call my Suzuki TU250X, but then I realized I already knew the answer... "Girl's bike".

We used to call them rice rockets. A bit more derogatory than crotch rocket.

Re: Cruiser question

I don't see how it's derogatory. Who wouldn't want to ride a rocket?

Edit: The crotch rocket quip, I certainly see how rice rocket could be derogatory.

Re: Cruiser question

The term itself isn't derogatory, but the tone with which it is usually said, can be quite demeaning.

I've usually only heard the term either from those who don't ride (easily forgiven) or those who are of the "my brand is best, all others are worthless crud" variety.
I usually brush it off and enjoy myself, though sometimes I want to offer to race them anywhere beyond the next bar

BTW, Nice Aprillia

Re: Cruiser question

Ah so, I own 2 lice burners.

Good thing I was married already before riding my scoots. A whole bunch of folks always asked me about the Burgman at gas stations, I guess they were gay (not funny gay)

Is the speed triple a naked wanker rocket?

I'm so confused..............
