Leaving for a week's ride to Big Bend
I will repost once I return.

I traded a TWT inmate for this 1997 Honda XR650L.

Replaced the tail light to fix an intermittent brake light.
New air filter
New oil and filter

Well farkled ...

5 gallon plus fuel tank
Cycle racks rear rack
Highway Dirt Bikes hand guards with solid top mount and fold out mirrors
Rox risers
Almost new front tire, decent rear tire.
Recent chain and sprockets
Extra front rim and decent tire

The bike lights right off and runs strong.
Could use a thorough cleaning ... I've done about as much as I can stand in 40* weather.
No leaks and everything works.

Been some questions about the area at the bottom of the frame tube.
It is not rust, rather where the paint has been chipped off, spilled oil that has run down the frame tube and years of oil changes without properly cleaning up.

Title transfer in progress. Should have a clean, blue Texas title in a couple weeks.

If you look through CL and eBay, these are priced at $3K or more.

Looking for a quick sale at $2150

dang. It would be perfect for what I need, but over my budget at this point. I've got around $1000 and a nice rifle to find a solid old ds with :-)

Still available

Thanks, I'm on hold for a week helping find a car and apartment for my son at the moment. I'm stuck down at the $1100 range as well till folks buy more of my bike camping inventory. Nobody is buying anything at the moment.

Man...that rear rack looks it could haul a refrigerator if you asked it to.

What did you trade to get it?
And is the subframe reinforced to go with the big rack?

I'm not fond of it because it looks clunky, but it does serve a purpose or two.

The subframe is prone to bending/weld cracking when weighed down with gear.
All kinds of contraptions out there to support it, each with there own set of issues.
The Cycle Racks design has the best reputation to prevent that.

It's also very cargo/luggage friendly in keeping gear off of the exhaust.

Finally, it offers good crash protection.

I considered pulling it off and selling it seperate.
They are $200 new. Used ... they don't seem to last long.

Why were there no XRLs selling for this good of a price when I bought mine?

And I'm a fan of the white ones

Everyone needs a spare ... :flip:

With the market the way it is, I will start pulling parts and selling off the farkles.

I have an oem tank if you need it
Those hand guards are neato

Thanks ... I have the original.

The HDB guards and mirrors are something I will keep for the KTM.
