Post your Day Rides Here!

Guess why I see a spoon! lol
They give you a knife when you get the meat. I asked for a fork and they said no forks. Then they said, you do want spoon? I said sure.

It's tough to eat brisket with a knife and a spoon, but I got it done :)

I tend to prefer a spoon to a fork for many foods, there are some that just simply require a fork.

Enjoyed a brisk ride south of FTW a few days ago.

Found a really good burger at Brock's in Granbury.

They used to bring prisoners from the courthouse over to feed them (that was also the county jail at this time). If you look by the beaches along the walls where you wait inline for the pit. There's strong hooks attached to the wall. That's where the knives were chained to that prisoners used to eat with. Barbecue was meant to be eaten with the fingers even prisoners knows that.

Winter ride, lol, at Cycleland. Zero mud and picked up a friend along the way.

Pandale ride Day 2.
We planned on making it home today. We started the having breakfast with my riding buddy's friend. We started about 10 this morning from Ozona. Short ride on I-10 to 2083 and headed south. A little ways into the ride, the scenery is awesome. Canyons and a valley you drive through. The hwy is curvy with up and downs. Real nice.. You eventually come to gravel. Getting better. We turned on 1024 toward Comstock. Pretty scenic. Then, we turned back on gravel toward Juno. Took 163 north to ranch road 189 then on to Ft McKavett. Was a great ride today 421 miles and got home a little before 8:00.

My good friend Dan received an early Christmas in the form of a KTM 500 dual sport.

A little cool and some drizzle today, but got out with @EETTU to let the K1200 and K1600 get some exercise. Turns out we let them run a little too fast and ran afoul of the law! Don't worry, we escaped jail and made it to lunch in Rockport. View attachment 309887

@synthlegend had warned me less than 20 minutes before he pulled us over and my wrist didn’t listen. Luckily he was one of those cops that isn’t nice but gives you a warning.
It was nice to get out in spite of the weather.
There was good food at the end of the road. I gotta get some more father tips from @synthlegend. He’s got one in pre-med, corporate money man, and a collegiate basketball player. Thanks for the good ride.

Yeah, God blessed me with 3 good youngins, but they made me go gray early!! Lol!🤪🤣🤣🤣🤣 I had a great time. I still can't believe I went out in the cool overcast weather. Maiden voyage on the Blue Beetle was a complete success! Thanks for lunch and fellowship!

Lots of smiles in this post

If you go again, I'd like to try and meet y'all there.
How far away are you? We will definitely do it again. If the weather was better id have loved to stop at the marsh area after Port Comfort and id like to check out the Aransas Pass Wildlife reserve.

I'm about 169 miles away.

Aransas National Wildlife Reserve is awesome. I stop in every time I am down there and have time. It's a little off the beaten path to get into, but its a cool place, imo.

Here are some pics we took the last time we were there:

How do you like the Beemer?
I know, I didn't give much detail so let me elaborate a bit more. Firstly, the K1600 is roughly the same size as the R1200/1250, just a whole bunch more engine underneath. Balance is excellent and unbelievably flickable into corners for a "big" bike. Wind protection is excellent as expected of a full fairing bike. Seat height is adjustable and I have it in the high position. I'm about 6'2" tall. The seat is comfortable stock, so I would imagine a Corbin/Sargent option would put the fanny in heaven. Lots of creature features. I used the heated grips yesterday and they worked fine. Cruise is easy to set and modify. We already know it's fast, fast and fast. The exhaust note is wicked. Sounds something like a liter sport bike with a deeper tone mixed with a exotic sports car. Overall, the most fun I've had on a bike in a minute.

The wife and I go down there fairly often to just look around. Our daughter and two of the grandkids are here and we just took them down yesterday. Cold and wet, but no mosquitoes. Did not see much wildlife, just a lot of deer and buzzards. The gk's liked the bird tower. We walked the board walk then came back one of the trails. They are 3 and 5 and we're asking if I was sure there were no lions in there. 😁

They loved it and wanted to go back again.

My daughter likes to go when we are down there as well. I think we got lucky last time we went and saw a bunch of stuff moving around.

I really enjoy the tower as well.

The hogs had really tore things up. This is right across from the main fishing pier.

Biggest surprise for me was when we were there once and saw hogs swimming in the gulf from the tower. I was told.they like crabs. They went out to an island area and we're rooting around.
