I was nervous about the sharp edges
I thought about that but didn't want to mess up the nice powder coating. Then it'd be ugly. Yes, it's an ugly DRZ but let's not dip to KLR status here. So, why not use a file and simplify your life, then a little spray paint, Bob's your uncle and cost is much lower.
Dude, this is a cheap DRZ. No way I'm throwing that kind of money at it! That's KTM money right there. You know you could also have slipped a piece of treated plywood in there.

Nice, low mileage 400s are everywhere. Trying to find a nice used 650 is a nightmare.
The 650’s all went to the crusher and were replaced be the 400.Maybe there are no nice 650s. Ian you really need to control your bias. Happy New Year

Mike - with the rear tire off the ground move it up and down until the bolts line up. It is much easier if you have two people.Odd problem on lowering the DRZ: I can get one side of the links on, throw the two bolts through, but can't get the other side on. Seems to be off about 1/8" and there is nothing to budge. I'll try to post pics in the morning but I think something is bent. Worried that now that it is off I might not even get the original links back on.
Thanks sandman. I've had help and the bolts are through the assembly doing that. I'm going to try again cause I see a gap where the bolts go in and it should be flush.Mike - with the rear tire off the ground move it up and down until the bolts line up. It is much easier if you have two people.
If it's a weekend or afternoon, gimme a ping. I need motivation to get out on mine. The lowering link is on. I took it all off and started again from scratch. Worked, don't know what was different. Ready for a decent day to test it out. Supposed to be 2" lower.
Let's do.If it's a weekend or afternoon, gimme a ping. I need motivation to get out on mine.
That's the problem though, if he's looking for a stock carb, he's unfarkling it. That's SO un-Doug!Jasen, after he gets this one all farkled out, I'll buy it at a super bargain. Fingers crossed.
