This is the initial draft of the Pie Run schedule. I'm waiting for a couple more Pie Scout reports to come in, so I may switch a couple of locations around yet.

Jan 26: Ranchman's Cafe (Ponder)
Feb 23: Tony's Family Restaurant (Sealy) NEW!
Mar 29: Floyd's Ranch House (Ingleside) NEW!
Apr 26: The Creamery (Marshall) NEW!
May 31: Black Bear Restaurant, Davis Mtns State Park NEW!
Jun 28: Koffee Kup (Hico)
Jul 26: Lucy's Cafe (Celina) NEW!
Aug 30: Bluebonnet Cafe (Marble Falls)
Sept 27: Blessing Hotel (Blessing) NEW!
Oct 25: Debbie's Pies (Hutto)
Nov 22: The Shed (Edom) - note date change due to holiday (was 11/29)
Dec 27: 4th Annual End of Year Pie Run Event!

As you can see, there are several new locations for next year. Those Pie Scouting reports really help! I scheduled the November run for the Saturday after Thanksgiving for Edom deliberately. That way if your significant other would like to do some shopping in Canton, you can eat then make the short ride over.

Let me know your thoughts.

My thoughts --> LET's RIDE...check out the bikes...meet new TWT's...yum, yum, muummm good...LET's RIDE.

Chris, thanks for your the time and effort to put together 2008 Pie Runs. Looks like another GREAT pie eatin' year!!!! :rider:  :rider:

Well, this year should certainly separate the men from the boys, at least for Houston. There's nothing within 200 miles until June. :rider:

That's because the EoY event is close(r) to Houston. I take that into account when I schedule the January Pie Run. I do my best to spread the locations around. We do have a number of folks that live in SW Houston, too, so the more southern locations shouldn't be too far.

The Jan. 26 isn't that bad, find your quickest route to SH35 and head south. Heck, get to Palacios and I'll ride down w/ ya if I'm off...:rider:

And also I'm even thinking about the Feb. 23rd myself, that's at least 4 hrs for me, hope the little womans butt can handle it...

Looks like y'all worked up a pretty fine map. I'll have to see how many of those I can make this coming year...Looking foreward to see where for west texas...Maybe Abline, Midland, or Something around Lubbock or maybe Sweet Water. What ever, It will be interesting. Y'all did a fine job, Thank you

Just a thought.... the West Texas date coincides with the TAR in Junction.... Is there anything there that would qualify as a destination?

Dunno. The 2 places we're awaiting a report on are in Alpine and Fort Davis. Both of those are nearly 300 miles from Junction. Junction may not be far enough west for them either.

What is TAR? Do I need to swap the date to avoid a conflict?

They make these things.... they're called motorcycles.... they have motors and wheels to get you places far, far away.... some of these places even have this stuff called pie.:lol2: :lol2:

There is a Cooper's BBQ in Junction, not sure about a pie location there. Coming back from West Texas tomorrow we may try and swing through to see if we can find any viable candidates.

It seems like we always miss a semi-close one in February when we will be in OKC for my nephews birthday. That's just how the schedule falls I guess.

How many members live in far W. Texas? Do we have any data on the geographical distribution of our membership? It would seem that this kind of information would be important to determine where these events should be held.

I know we have a handfull of foreigners (residing outside of TX, mostly bandits) but my question does not apply to them.

Even if there aren't many members in West TX, I think it's fair that they finally get one in the rotation. They're stuck having to go many hundreds of miles for ours, but we never return the favor.

Attendance is not always going to be at capacity for these things anyway. I think the low number is 4 or 6 riders at one (?) because of weather.

No kidding.... This is the first one in West TX in how many years??? Remember, "If there is pie, they will come." I for one want to do the w. TX one just because people are starting to whine about it. That will make it all the more fun to attend.:trust: :rider:

Jan 26: Floyd's Ranch House (Inglesdie) NEW!

Do you mean Ingleside near Redfish bay and harbor Island?

You must
Floyd's Ranch House
2144 State Highway 361, Ingleside, TX
(361) 776-3511

REF: Floyd's Ranch House in Ingleside, TX

I have yet to attend a Pie Run, but if I am correct (am I ?), part of the fun of Pie Runs is after eating some pie of course, there is a nice ride with everyone. Well unfortunately we don't have those great riding roads you guys have up North, mostly all the roads here are flat and straight.

Since I live within 15 min of the Ingleside location, I wanted to throw some potential activities to do out there for those attending which may make up for roads that don't have as much of a fun quotient as you're used to.

ALL of these places are within a 15 - 25 min ride of the Pie Run location :

USS Lexington Aircraft Carrier Museum

I'll see you guys in Jan. ! :rider: :eat:

agreed but no one answered my question. I'm curious on how many members we have in Lubbock, Midland, Odessa, Del Rio, or El Paso? Why don't we do one in south TX - Brownsville or Zapata? I would think that it would be good to know the geographical distribution of our membership and use that information to determine candidate locations.

Many members don't fill out their complete profile, so there are no "real" statistics to go by. We've got south Texas covered this year by adding Corpus to the list. ;-)

If anyone might be going to the January one from the Katy or Northwest side of Houston, I would be interested in hooking up to ride down. Also, what time do you usually meet up at the pie location? Thanks.

WC usually makes an official thread sometime in the month of the run.
Typical assembly time is 11:00 AM (trying to beat the noon rush).

I understand the reasoning, but 11 has started feeling a bit early for the distance riders - and might be eliminating participants by demanding 5 and 6 a.m. starts.

Thoughts?
