We ate at this little cafe. The lady who owned the place kept telling us to "just make yourself at home and visit while I go outside for a cigarette".

My top box made a nice beer cooler. Until I hit a jump and got some air with 5 gallons of water in it (in a collapsible water container). Top box separated from my KLR when I landed. Nothing a few zip ties couldn't fix.

Felix's license plate got sucked into his tire. His inspection sticker will never be the same.

We had to go to the hardware store to fix Felix's KLR. He had a corroded connector.

Our campsite, it was in the middle of the woods and very remote.

Looks like fun. Wish I could have made it. I am putting August down on my calendar.

Great report guys. Looks like some first rate DS adventure. Don't know if y'all were camping nearby but Ratcliff has a fine little park just south of "town"...might be worth a look.

Next trip in the middle of August? You fellers are hard core! :rider:

Ratcliff Lake campground was closed due to falling tree dangers. The drought has caused a lot of trees to die. Anyways, we weren't into camping at a crowded campground anyways. In the national Forests you are allowed to camp anywhere in the woods. So we picked the most remote area we could find. You couldn't hear anything man made where we were, except for the occasional airplane. Perfect!
