Re: Beyond Epic 5 - Ozark Rally, Aug 31 - Sep 3, 2012

Thanks. One more and I'm done. From Cloudcroft via 5563 to Sun Spot is paved. Does it turn to gravel at that point enroute to Timberon and eventually turning back East to Pinon?

Paved all the way to Timberon. From Timberon south, dirt.

I had a leaner mix but wanted to use up the old can of 32:1 first. I can't thank you guys enough for showing me some of the trails on the RM250. I go to NM fairly often and will start making the trails in Cloudcroft a regular stop. Someone else had the idea of making an organized rally up there -- count on me to join in.

The road is paved all the way to Timeron :rider:

Is this a new fender mod? Makes sense...keep mud and stuff from getting under it. :thumb:

There's gotta be a story here...:trust:

Went to Cloudcroft, rode the bikes, met some new folks, and had a blast.

Here’s a few pictures:

We came across an out of gas cruiser between Artesia and Hope. As you can see from the clouds, it looked like it was about to pour. The couple said they had been there for a while, with no one stopping to help. Tourmiester to the rescue.

Hooked up with Jbay in Cloudcroft and rode some great FS roads, along with some single track.

The third day we met up with ToeJam at his place and he was kind enough to take us on some great two-track on the Big bikes.

The fifth day it was back to the Big Bikes and some relaxing two-track. After the last 2.5 miles of the RIM Trail we needed a break from single-track…

Total of six great days of riding and I was spent. This has got to be one of my favorite places to ride and I can’t wait to go back…

Some pics from Cloudcroft. What a fun place! Great weather too!

Great pix Roger. Looks like y'all covered a lot of ground. There is something uniquely cool about riding those trails. It's different...

Great pics Roger, thanks. Will someone please, please get another Cloudcroft ride together before the weather gets bad. Pretty Please!

Will there ever be another Beyond Epic Cloudcroft ride...? :ponder:
