I took every back road between Tomball & Jays and still got her an hour and 15 minutes early. I left way too early.

That was me on the Goldwing on my way back to Waco. Glad to meet you. Looked like you were giving riding lessons.

4jranch it was nice meeting you and your wife even if I couldn't hear everything. I can buy a lot of gas for the price of hearing aids.

Re: PIE RUN II:Need some pie in Needville 2/22

Well, we rode in from Bryan. We is me on my FZ1 and my 17 year old daughter on a 250 Ninja. Today was her first big trip out of town. ~250mi round trip.

We fell in behind a couple on dual sports on FM 50 from FM 60 to 105 outside Brenham. We stopped for breakfast about 930 or so at Andreas in Brenham.

Fell in behind another couple on Yamahas on the way out. We were pulling out of a Chevron in Sealy.

it was good to see EVERY BODY! #2 Scott counted 52 heads, way bigger turn out than had signed up

I rolled into the driveway here at 6:20PM with right at 600 miles total.

due to working evenings, instead of getting up real early for the ride down I took off Friday for the trip down and spent the night in Wharton at the tee pee motel where MotorcycleBelle and MotoTex were also staying.

we got up a bit early Saturday so we could go see the first settler to the town.

and run down to the semi ghost town of New Gulf. New Gulf was a company owned town situated on the Boiling Dome formation where they mined sulfer for around 70 years before they shut down the plant and everyone moved away.

I told myself that I would drive the speed limit to Needville and back and darn if I didn't get a fast driving award in Wallis. 57 in a 45. I didn't see the sign and my radar detector was going off all the time but I was running with traffic and didn't know I was speeding. The headlight modulator (flashing headlights) attracted their attention. Two woman in the cop car. Win some and lose some.

Nice ride down from Bastrop. took the back way and got some photos of the Piano Bridge outside Schulenberg. Arrived just ahead of NT_Slim for his stop on his trip around Texas. Good company, good food and good pie.

It was good to see everyone and so many (to me) new faces. I left north of Austin a tad after 7AM expecting a nice leisurely ride. What I had instead was a fast paced run to the coast! Many of the "back roads" I chose were 70-75MPH flat and straight. However, I took the opportunity to crack the throttle and see what the tach would read at some of the upper speeds. I'm pleased to report at 90MPH the tach isn't at 6k yet. That's about as fast as I wish to cruise. Its a strange feeling but I'm uncomfortable at that speed with the cruise control on, much better feeling using the throttle on my own.

I was hoping to upload these pictures last night however my keyboard wouldn't work. Never had a keyboard "just die" on me before. Had keys quit working, but never nothing working. So after 2 hours in Frys this morning looking at what seamed like hundreds of keyboards I finally got one I liked and can actually type on. Although backlit (why?) with different colors and 5 levels of brightness and some stuff I've never heard off like full NKRO in USB mode and 6KRO. I like the feel and can type with ease on it. So without further delay, my pcitures, enjoy!

As I made the turn into The Jay Café I notice two things 1) its gravel (crap) 2) it's huge! and 3) it's being graded as we pull in (OK 3 things for those counting)

Some of the folks that greeted me, a father/son team, Great!

They rode in on a FJR with some of the brightest LED passing lamps I've seen.

Shoot, I did not check the TWT forum. I went the other way on 36. Wish I had been aware....and there was even a Guzzi Stelvio there!

I resent being called a chicken fried steak !! It was good meeting up with you and hope you had a safe and pleasant trip back on your Triumph RocketShip.

Good Gracious Me (Because I couldn't use the words I wanted to) !! Where did my hair go ???

:tab I bet that was a fun ride! Treasure the moments riding with her before life gets in the way and your opportunities diminish :thumb:

:tab Beth has been on a cruise all weekend with her Mom. So I had the kids. Had I thought about it, we might have made the run down in the truck, but I forgot it was this weekend  I saw a lot of familiar faces in the pics, but also quite a few I did not recognize. Nice to see new folks still showing up for the Pie Runs!
