Went down to see the competition today. Saw some good riding! Its fun to watch those big Hardleys get muscled around. I actually enjoyed them more than the BMW's because it looked easy for the BMW's

Here's some pics. I'm thinking of going back tomorrow.

Kim and I were there as well with Mark(igo-wfo). She's currently resizing her many photos then I'm sure she'll be posting up. Mark took a few snapshots as well.

The Kawasaki guys should have made it look really easy. That KZ will turn a LOT tighter than the BMW will.

Great pictures, looks like a whole lot of scrapin goin on.
I have more respect for those moto cops who escort funeral processions through a big city than a moto GP rider any day.

The first guy out of the box on a H-D made the course look very easy and set the bar very high. Nobody ran it as smoothly and quickly as he did all day. I don't think the BMW's really had much(if any) advantage over the H-D's and Kaws.

YEAH!!
And guess outta ALL the bikes there, who had the loudest pipes?????

Yup, Burleson PD..

Coppell had the most techno-heavy of all the bikes there, Radar, Good light setup W/LEDs nice modern looking radio & siren controller, and ON BIKE VIDEO CAMERA complete with a viewing screen.

Here's the link to the pics that Squidward and I got from today...

It was truly a fun day. The first guy out was the best IMHO, but the Beemers were way cool too. So many areas represented...

Burleyville represented!

I went to one of those in the early 70s in Houston with my
Dad, I remember it being a neat day, and back then there
were still some Servi-Cars in service

thanks for all the pix.

luv seein' the big bikes dragging boards and all those classic looking KZ1000Ps.

It was cool because they ranged in age from 25 - 60...the youngest guy had only been a moto-cop for 3 months...he dropped his bike the most, but he still did REALLY well....better than I coulda done!

Did I mention he had really hairy arms?

There were two women that I saw. Their pics are in there somewhere. They did a darn good job hustling their H-D's around the course with zero drops betwen them.

I think one of these guys passed me on my way home from Austin two weeks ago... it was the first time I'd seen a moto-cop wearing a full face helmet.

Does anyone know the Schedule for tomorrow? I am thinking of heading down there around 10.

I don't think it is going on tomorrow.

I went around noon and saw some great riding. I saw two chick riders. I got to see a buddy from GP. It was a good time.

good pics!

one of my friends got pulled over by a Travis CO Sheriff on what i'm pretty sure was a ST1300 about a year ago.

Could be. Kawasaki pulled out of the PD market but Honda is in (along with Harley and BMW). Guzzi used to have a police bike, but I don't know if they import them any more.

And the beach cops in Corpus Christi ride Suzuki DRZ 400s of some sort.

I have never seen one on duty. But BMW sells PD versions of the GS and there F650.
For the competition the DRZ or F650 might be a winner:rider:
That use to be called cheating with in the rules :trust: :trust:

They run three classes. Essentially the H-D class, the KZ class, and the BMW class.
