Look who showed up for coffee...

Yesterday was nice. Got unloaded and out for a quick spin. Went by Bob's for a little while too.

Have more, but some were too large to load, it said.

My deep thanks to sKATz for her expert help in figuring out the quandary of the many options of dealing with my non starting RT. She even considered giving me a ride back to Zephyr. A phone call to the Alamo Motorsports Service manager nailed it. Although it was cranking well, the battery wasn't giving the voltage needed. I was clueless that the problem could be solved so easily. Kat asked Joleen (her GPS) where the nearest Lowe's was. I bought a battery booster, hooked it up, turned the throttle 15 degrees as the service manager suggested, and it fired right up. Such a relief.

Gene Phil n me have been ridin several of the local paved goatpaths this mornin. A quik lunch at The Hunter House leaves room for tonite. Shorter day of ridin than either Thurs or Fri....but great roads & scenery

Alrighty! Spring in the Texas Hill Country... and we have motorcycles, :dude:

So Hodee and I head for the hills. He on his splendid Super T and me on my ratty old KLR. We agreed that while cruising through towns or when passing other motorcyclists - I'd drop far back and act like we weren't really riding together.

Wild flowers are doing just fine this season with occasional hillsides covered in bluebonnets so thick we could smell their fragrance while passing through.

Some roads seem to go right through somebody's place... code of the West : "Gates - Leave em the way ya found em."

230865

And then there's always a few locals with attitudes to deal with...

230866

I admire folks with artistic talents. Gate art with a Texas flavor or maybe a No Tresspassing sign in internataional language format?

230867

Creeks and rivers are running crystal clear and beyond beautiful... pictures just don't work here.

Course, there always has to be two sides to every happy story...

This is one of a few remaining natural crossings that grow slickness in superb fashion. I can't remember a time crossing this spot when at least one bike hasn't been baptized. All in a day's ride with no harm done and Hodee handles it in stride.

And then there's the ADVENTURE aspect of the ride. The part to explain an occasionally removed and far-off gaze in our eyes along with a slight and somewhat devious grin that family and coworkers might notice months or perhaps even years from now...

It's Springtime - and we have motorcycles... LIVE!!!

I found a good spot for the group pic at 5:30
In Schreiner Riverside... Thru the gate & straight down to river....sign sez river access ...take a left & down to the parking area under the trees....close to the 534 bridge.
Might hafta be at an angle since parking lot isnt too wide...but workable I think

Rod. Beautiful spot by the river. Hopefully we get some pics of all the tw texans in close up smaller group shots with those massive river cypress trees, besides just a distant photo.

Finally got that steak you were talking about!

Thanks to every single one of the fine Stromathoners and the folks at Destination Motorsports for ... a durned fine time. I thought of all of you the entire way I battled that @#$(@#_($)*@#)( headwind. Y'all are mighty and powerful!

Up early, getting coffee then load out at daylight. What a great day yesterday.

Breakfast at Destination Cycles was great. And Chuck set me up with a tailpack setup last minute cause I lost straps to my other one.

For the ride Gina and I headed out and hit some fun ranch roads. We did Luckenbach (my first time ever!) for lunch and to warm up. We were the 'other bikes' in the sea of Harleys in the parking lot. We took some pics then headed back. (I'll get the routes once I look at the maps).

It was very windy and the temps dropped fast. I was lucky Gina is awesome she kept throwing liners at me to put on so I wouldn't freeze. She was a fun ride buddy and made sure I was doing OK on the ride. JT was able to make the last round of roads before picture time. After that we got dinner.

Fun things: I almost ran over a turkey and Gina almost got taken away by an owl.

Wil put up my gear observations in their respective threads. But overall such a fun weekend. Met Kat, what a cool lady. And the guys, yall are fun and truly a wealth of motorcycle knowledge and great senses of humor. It was great seeing yall again Dave...Dave..was there a Kevin?. Met Joe and another Joe and Rick (yall are great neighbors in 17). Bob and his wife were excellent. Vinny = trouble. Met more folks, just can't remember names (sorry!). Had a great time.

ETA: Gina thanks for snapping pics :thumb:
