I don't think it was a school. Maybe part of it at some time. It's too big to be a school for that size town and it looks more like a manufacturing or terminal/storage building.

Got out for some dirt roads and exploration before the rain started today. Possibly found the highest piece of ground between Houston, San Antonio, and Waco. (Kinda doubt it but still a nice view)

How long can you sit on that seat?

I’m very impressed with the Seat Concepts seat. I’ve done a 350 miler with more pavement than I wanted and no pains in the backside. It’s much better than the factory one. I’m thinking of getting one for the 1090 since that will be my big miles bike.

Built in 1907. Great day trip 127 round trip from Temple.

Last night at the grasslands

Got out for a wild goose chase ride today. Texas Historical Society says there are some nice old bridges to see in South Texas. Luckily I had 3 on my radar because I only found one still actually in existence near Normanna. I also got my mirrors blown off as another KTM zipped by me. He was cool enough to wait for me at the next intersection to say howdy. Sure enough he’s a member and if my poor memory is correct it was @pilot815 .... I did get to show him the bridge and get a bikes pic.

Got in a ride today, 108 miles. Gave the Ape some road time:

Headed north from my house on this one. My ride stayed mostly on FM roads. Not a lot of curves in the area, but one of the better ones is FM 1002 headed to Rhonesboro. From there west to WInnsboro on FM 2869 heading onto 515 and then south on 2966 past Lake Quitman to Quitman. Get onto FM 788 to Hainesville. Hainesville is a favorite small town, well actually a community. There are three great houses at the 778/49 intersection.

This one has a history. It was the area's doctor's house in the late 19th, early 20th century, Dr. Putnam.
The current owner, who came over to retrieve his dog, told me he restored the house a few years back
after several years of neglect.

The Putnam house owner said this house was first occupied around the turn of the 20th century by
the area's funeral director, kinda a bit handy across the street from the doctor. The current owner
is a...funeral director. From there I headed home, took Hoard Road (FM1804) towards the garage.

Gorgeous day, hated to waste it around the house.

Have always wanted to do this “full loop” but always cut it short. Not today! Awesome ride, great weather. About as much dirt and rock as you can find in south eastern part of my neck of the woods. Included Wolf Hill Road and lots of Angelina National Forest.

Started off for the day ride to the dump to help my neighbor with the shingles



I went around the corner in lagarto Texas and photographed the old school and community center


Rode into corpus Christi Calallen area to go to the Bank of America. They had everything marked off with appropriate 6-foot markings on the floor.

On my way back home I went through Blunzer community and old San Patricio again heading north to Mathis and back to Swinney Switch, took a few photographs on the way.




Got home and had a few tacos for lunch then at 2 went over and got my
asymptomatic first responder

Weird you were thinking that, I always think about that every time I see these signs that have been out in the sun. My idea is to take regular flat black spray paint and paint everything then come back with a random orbit sander and clear those raised letters . I think it would look like brand new and simple to do. $34 harbor freight

Then with my luck some idiot Bexar County Sheriff would come along and throw the cuffs on me for vandalism of State Property

Oh, I forgot to add that I saw a pickup that look just like my old 85 GMC. I spoke to the guy and discovered his was a Chevrolet and the funny thing about it I had replaced the wheels with the same ones, it was a plain Jane blue long bed truck with a 305 and terrible carbureted throttle response.

Yea, some simple kit would do. Also for those old old grave markers we look at
