Took Bob out for the scrap book photo at the Iwo Jima Monument in Harligen ...


Then back roads to Port Mansfield the end of the road and the first bug... That's not a bad day in my life...

A few seniors and 1 young guy rode perfect conditions out of 208 on string and balloon Wednesday. Even met a 890 and African Twin on the trail. @shooter_t1 was that you we met?

Really great day yesterday. All warm and sunshiny, no wind, and dust free after the recent rain. @Dudeman70 joined me on a ride around Lampasas county.

We mostly rode in the Adamsville-Lometa-Lampasas area.

Around Izora and Rumley it was particularly cool.

Weather wise, it was a GREAT day for riding here. Sunny with blue skies, 74* and light wind, so I took a little trip to the Texas Zoo in Victoria. Total trip mileage was just under 200 miles when I got back home. Traffic wise, it was a little busy with everyone returning home from Thanksgiving trips, but overall not too bad.

Thought he was up on a stump when I took the pic.......that's NOT a stump.

Looks like a ferocious growling kitty.........nope, it was just yawning when I snapped the pic.

The bear was trying to get to those black bins in the fenced in storage area. He tried his darndest but finally gave up.

It's fun and what I have handy but nothing like what is at your doorstep. If I have money I love shopping but no money= no shopping!

Great riding weather this week! @Mattpanter joined me for a loop around Bell, Falls, and Milam counties.

Bean Hill.

Rosebud has “roads” like this that go on forever. Probably just used by farmers.

Lastly Cameron was particularly nice with all the falling leaves.

It was too nice of an afternoon to spend indoors. Had some fun on the dirt roads around Mason.

A few miles west of Castell.

Me and @Dudeman70 took our dual sports to Let’s Ride Ranch in scenic Buckholts and rode the course from a recent TORCS race. Perfect conditions and we had the place to ourselves.

Touted as an ATV park there are also many miles of single track. Located just off Highway 190, there is a tunnel connecting land on both sides.

There’s a beautiful high speed lake loop with picnic tables for hanging out and enjoying the scenery.

Also plenty of tight woods.

Of course I had to find the muddiest spot of all! I was following the course markings and believe I might have been pranked.

Much thanks to Dan for sacrificing his clean gear and helping extract me from the stinky mud.

Went for a ride today to Victoria Zoo with two friends and their wives who have never been there before. One on an Electra Glide and his wife and the other on his Indian solo and me on my Goldwing with my wife. The Indian rider's wife followed in their truck with their kids. I only saw two other motorcycles out on the road going there and back (180 miles), one was a Victory cruiser and the other was a Tenere.

We left around 9AM and the temp was about 51* winds at 15 - 20 mph and the wind chill at highway speeds was about 39* - 40*, I am thankful for the Goldwing's large fairing, Clearview +2 windscreen, heated grips, heated rider & passenger seats, heat vents in fairing, and lower fairing foot heat vents. My wife and I were warm and comfortable, we also had proper cold weather riding gear.

My buddy on the Electra Glide had heated grips but that's all. He was cold and his poor wife was freezing. My other buddy on the Indian had nothing heated and was very cold. Admittedly, out of the three, the only one of them with any type of proper cold weather riding gear was my buddy on the Electra Glide had a cold weather riding jacket on but that was it (Everyone including my wife and I wore full face helmets). My buddy's wife (Electra Glide) decided to ride in the truck on the way back home from Victoria because she was so cold. I have no doubt though that if they had proper cold weather gear, they would have been fine. Maybe they'll listen to me now. lol

Other than the cold weather, everyone had a good time and the kiddos were super excited to see the zoo animals.

Not sure, not totally uncommon out there. But never seen this bad. And this isn't really hidden.

Inspired by KsTeveM's middle Texas meandering, I rode around Mason county today.

The weather was very nice. Taking a break somewhere near Harper.

I like the historical markers too. This one is pretty cool. I am glad bears are no concern out here anymore.

A little bit of red rock country in Texas.

Somewhere between Doss and Castell, I think.
