Sportbike Extravaganza Warning Big Pics!
Well to be brief here are the statistics:
102mph sheriff flyby 4 bikes no tickets!
600 to 700 attendees
300 to 400 bikes
600 BBQ sandwiches
Mototryph (the stunt team) was a no call no show
raffled off
7 helmets
6 jackets 4 bottle of plastic polish
a battery tender
tons of magazine subscriptions
and who knows what all else(sorry I was busy taking pictures)
1 bogus 911 call about a downed rider(we never located anyone or thing)
two semi innocent riders got Saran Wrapped to poles
TONS of beer Pizza and burgers
a nice 350 mile ride Sunday
Lunch in Sonora
Followed 30 miles by a DPS when we were actually doing the speed limit
and finally a 4 bike 115mph flyby on a DPS officer who just flashed his overheads and kept going!
The weekend was a total blast with some really fun and funny people over some very nice roads. Everyone pulled together to help each other and make a great weekend special thanks to Title Sponsors Woods Mesquite BBQ owners Dana and Nancy Beck and to FAMILY POWERSPORTS Odessa, McKinney, San Angelo and Lubbock who brought out a support truck and trailer filled with gear and bikes. They also donated a ton of gear. Thanks to the many other fine companies who donated including Ride Texas Magazine who donated subscriptions. Attendance was considerably less than anticipated this year most likely due to a poor weather forecast that never materialized. There were bikes there from the beat to the best and everywhere in between.
And on to the pics
Well it all started with an OOPS! we had actually been riding BELOW the speed limit due to high winds and when we made a 102 mph pass,,,, well oops! The officer was unerstandably upset but let us go with a finger shaking!
First to arrive Friday well sort of the guys from Kerrville are always the first to arrive!
Saturday everyone starts to show up
SUper sexy full Carbon Fiber Ducati even the gas tank!
