Well I am behind on posting this as usual, but here goes anyway.
The last weekend in August 28-30 was very busy for Kathy and I we had something going on everyday and sometimes 2 events to attend. It started on Friday evening with us going to the Beautiful Feet Ministries http://thefeet.org/ to hear one of the other Area Reps for CMA speak.
They are a ministry to the homeless folks, and once a month they have a biker night with someone from one the local motorcycle ministries bringing the message. I spoke there a few months ago.
Here is a shot of Robert Dumond the speaker for this evening and his wife, Anne, arriving.
A better picture taken later
Here are some of the folks and bikes.
Chaplain Buck with the Armadillos Cycle Club.
Everyone listening to the music.
Listening to the music
Chaplain Buck and wife Betty.
Robert bringing the message. Funny thing was God stepped in for that. He had left his notes on what he was going to say at home, so God gave him the words he needed.
After it was over they served for the homeless folks that were there, probably close to 100.
On Saturday the 29th we went out to Weatherford for the Benefit for Zac Chapman.
The thread about Zac can be found here http://www.twtex.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42063
I wouldn’t begin to say how many folks showed up?? Some came and stayed, others stayed for just a while then left, and others only came long enough to make a donation. It was pretty neat deal.
Here are some various pictures inside the shop early on. I know that we had CMA folks from West Texas come, and some from Austin. But the attendees were not all CMA or racers, but folks that their church community. Lots of folks that just know the family.
The silent auction prizes.
I was high bidder on a couple of items. A Nolan N61 helmet for $80 and a coupon for a Ride Smart event(trackday??) for $60.
The stunters
I think there are a couple of bikes in there somewhere??
The result
Not only is the rear tire flat, but there is stuff leaking out of the motor. Not good!!
Someone came in this neat ride.
Outside
Zac’s Mom, Jenny, thanking everyone for coming and making donations.
I heard that over $7000 was raised, and there was still more coming in.
We left there and headed to this place to meet some other folks for dinner. This was the location at Heritage Trace & I-35.
Here is some of the group waiting for dinner. It was supposed to a night ride, a “bug run”. You place a target sticker on the front of your bike, and the person who gets s bug splatter closest to bullseye is the winner.
Kathy and I decided not to go on the ride, so we just made a donation and did our own “Bug Run” home.
Sunday 30th we rode over to Mansfield for the North Texas Annual Feed the Kids and Food Drive at Fat Daddy’s on Debbie Lane (1187). We got there early as one of our chapters the Salvation Riders out of Hillsboro http://cmascr4.org/TXN/SALVATIONRIDERS/default.aspx was doing the church service.
I had time to snap a few pics of this truck before hand.
Interesting air cleaner cover.
I loved this on the radiator
We weren’t sure what the jug was for as it was connected to a vacuum port of the carb.
Hula-girl on the dash.
Ken & Judy Harris praising God with music
Some of the folks attending the church service in a parking lot.
Larry Wingate, President of the Salvation Riders, bringing the message.
His wife Krissy, who is Chaplain, closing with prayer while Ken plays “Amazing Grace”
There were over 50 in attendance even though it was in middle of a parking lot. They had to scramble a bit to get some electricity. It’s called 300 feet of extension cord.
This Goldwing trike had this following it.
Neat sculpture made of hubcaps on the wall of Fat Daddy’s
A bike being given away at $100 a chance I believe.
More bike pictures
This group must of found a sale on Busa’s.
All were stretched and slammed.
A nice service-car
Couple of nice Triumphs owned by a Father & Son duo.
Nice theme on the Spyder.
Never saw a Goldwing painted like this.
I like the message here
We hung out for a bit then went to Ft. Worth Gun Show. We made it home around 5:00 PM and took a well deserved nap.
We had a great time at every event we attended, just wish they weren’t all in the same weekend.
