Taos, NM June 2010,

Every June, some friends and I meet up somewhere in the country. First it was Telluride, Colorado, then Erika Springs (twice), then Deadwood, South Dakota, followed by the Smokey Mountains, and now Taos, NM.

The object: meet, ride, goof off, eat, ride some more.

I have been there many times, but I still love the mountains of northern New Mexico.

This year, my friend Tim went with me.

A little duel sporting of FJRs and Kingpins was involved.

Not much of a story to tell, but here are some pictures from the week...

Some flora. No fauna found, which is probably a good thing.

Sure wish the Super Ténéré would come to the US :(

Nice trip! I love the fact that you aren't limited by road's on the FJR.

.

Oh wow....42 more days and I'll be in Colorado. I can't friggin wait! Going in cages with the family, just barely too many of us for one vehicle, so we are taking the CRV and the F150. And the FZ1 will be in the back of the F150 for sure. I figure, most days we are out tooling around, I'll be the odd man out on the bike. Sounds perfect! Thanks for the drooltastic pics to get me even more hyped up. It's going to be a loooooong 42 days.

How did the Victory treat Tim?
He is smiling, did he hold you up with extra gas stops?

That is hIs third one. He likes them, and that Kingpin has been the coolest one. We have ridden a lot of miles together. Extra gas stops are ok. ;)

Thanks Scott.
I probably should be, but I don't want to mIss anything.

Thanks..I hope you are happy..You've managed to thoroughly intimidate me this morning.:headbang:

Bad things seem to happen to me when I get off pavement..

Another reminder of why I don't like riding with others..

And on Father's Day no less..:lol2:

Cool pics, looks like fun. Tell your buddy, that is a nice lookin' Kingpin.

My Dad is burried in the Taos cemetery. I'm going to visit him next weekend. Leaving Friday. Thanks for the preview and ride report. Looks like you guys had a great ride.

Is the Viet Memorial building open yet? It was close till this summer sometimes when I went by last year. Just love me some New Mexico. And, love me some back gravel/dirt roads. I find my Bandit does as well or better than my top heavy DL1000 did on these roads. Didn't get to the Taos region this time out there (last week). Was doing all the cliff dwelling things I could. Thanks for sharing.

Enjoyed the pictures and admire your 'off-roading'...
