Little late in posting this ride, lost some of my picture and was trying to to savage what I could before I posted.

Last year I went to visit my good friend Ron in Pennsylvania for a West Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina ride. This year I did a return trip. This time we left Pennsylvania heading north east for a Virginia, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine ride.

Left Arlington Texas on Tuesday June 15 for Selingsgrove PA, then on to Conway New Hampshire.

Thursday June 17 ,We left Selinsgrove PA around 10 am. We arrived in North Conway New Hampshire around 10 pm. Very surprised to find that most of the motels had “Welcome Bikers , No Vacancy” signs. It seems that we arrived just in time for the Loaconia Speeway Bike week.

Friday June 18, We rode the Mt Washington Auto Road . An eight mile twisty mountain road that is reported to have some of the most severe wind ever recorded. There were some windy pucker moments as we reached the top of the mountain. Also the road was so narrow at times that two cars could not pass each other without some slow backing up and nervous grins. You could tell that some of the car drivers were very nervous cause that tried to drive in the middle of a road. Which was a problem cause the road was only one and a half lanes wide. Some of the bike riders were not dressed prepared for the 40 degree drop in temperature with a 40-50 MPH wind gust. Several bikes blew over in the parking lot at the top of the mountain.

Wikipedia: Mount Washington is the highest peak in the Northeastern United States at 6,288 ft (1,917 m). It is famous for its dangerously erratic weather, and long held the record for the highest wind gust directly measured at the Earth's surface, 231 mph (372 km/h) on the afternoon of April 12, 1934.[4]

Here some pics of the day

More to come :rider:

Is the weather station still in the top building?? Used to be an old time New Englander that lived up there in the winter. Every day he did a weather report from the top, usually by radio, sometimes when the weather cooperated, it was a visual (TV) signal that would fade in and out. I can still hear his voice and accent; "And the wheatha foh todaaay......" One could also hear the wind howl in the background.

Yup, the winds there are legendary. Old timers in Maine used to threaten their children with it. ;-) Glad you liked the ride up!

We rode up there in 2008. Pretty fun ride up on a m/c...

Bah, you haven't been to the top until you do it on foot in the cold rain. Actually, when I took my wife up to New England was the first time I'd done the auto road. Climbed it several times but we did take the train down the day of the really cold rain.

Great ride. I used to live in Portsmouth, NH but wasn't riding back in those days. Wish I had been. Looks like good riding . Thanks for the report.

Well I just don't have some of the pics that tell a good story. Especially the pics of the great seafood we ate every day. No pics of the Lobster Pie. Makes the title a bit confusing. Here are some more pics with no particular order.
