I bought this bike and spent a lot of time and money preparing it for an around the world trip. I ended up making it to Guatemala before deciding to do PhD instead... Bike ran great on my trip without any issues but I'm just downsizing. Bike is located in Irving.

$3250

Bike has 25k miles and the following work/upgrades

Jesse Luggage and Racks (included in price but would also sell separately)
Also have "custom" rear rack that mounts to Jesse Racks

FAAST Company Adventure pegs with elastomer inserts (awesome beefy pegs with an insert that reduces vibration and works well) these are crazy awesome and expensive--like $250 I think
Wilbers rear shock (also have spare seal head from Ted Porter at Beemershop so I could rebuild at any suspension shop it if it ever blew in Africa or something)
Seat Concepts Seat (also have stock)
Added a little flyscreen (stock on a different BMW model) provides the perfect amount of protection with no buffetting for me but also have stock clear screen
SW Motech Crash Bars
Aux lights with switch wired in stock auxilary position on switchgear
Center Stand
Uni Filter Air Filter
New BMW heated grips

Work done all approx 4.5k miles ago
Valve clearances checked and adjusted
Steering head bearings replaced
Suspension/rear end bearings replaced with seals added to felt washers
Water pump replaced
AND custom flexible oil line installed (this replaces the rigid steel oil return line to make replacing water pump something you can do on the side of the road)
also have spare water pump kit (impeller, seals)
Fork seals replaced
Updated the software to latest version
New Clutch cable
Mitas E07 tires

I also have a set of Hepco and Becker racks and pelican cases that I would sell with the bike or separately if someone wants them

That is a sweet setup! This is exactly the sort of thing I will be looking for as soon as I sell my Vee.
Any chance you would want to trade, Vstrom 1000 or KDX 220?

I've always loved those bikes...

Having had a 06 Dakar I can attest to there utter reliability. You are not going to outrun many people on it but it will go the distance and ask for more and this one looks to be setup right.

Sorry I already have four bikes so not really looking for another—although I might be persuaded with an SV650..

Being the owner of this same Dakar I'll agree. Comfiest/easiest bike to ride.
