The day after. Wow, am I whooped! The thunder, lighting and deluge Friday night started this tent camper off with a mostly sleepless night after the day of riding down from Fort Worth. I have endured some heavy rain event camping before but the intensity of this thunder and lighting display was the most extensive and fierce I have
ever experienced. It was both fearful and magnificent. Eddie got all prayed up hunkered down in his little tent. By the grace of God I did manage to stay dry.
Great ride down with Kevin,
@misterk, and Bill,
@hamish54 . Mostly less traveled roads and just a little rain. Storm recovery caused a really late start on Saturday. It turned into a great day of riding with Rich,
@JoToPe. Sunday was equally superb with Brad,
@Ready2Ride, and Rich. Brad is new to this forum and it was Brad's first event of this type. Welcome Brad. Of course we had a little rain before we finished. Monday I rode home with Bill on some less traveled roads and, you guessed it, had a little more rain. Over all a superb 4 day weekend. Great event Richard! Good routes! As always, the best part is the great people and, of course, I made some new friends. Thanks!
I did not take any photos. In an experiment to lighten and lower my load I eliminated, among other things, my tank bag which eliminated my camera equipment. I did have my phone. Guess I could blame the leader (me) for not stopping enough. I even removed my panniers for Sat and Sun. That was the longest rides I had ever done unladen on the 701. It handled like a new and wonderful machine.
Jimmy,
@FWdualsportrider, got this of shot of me, Kevin and Bill leaving Fort Worth Friday morning. Kevin commented that his handsome good looks even made the bums next to him look good and improved the general appeal of the photo. Of course I did have to wait for him to
get his makeup and hair done.
I did manage to ham it up for txmotofoto. I have purchased many of their photos of me riding before. Always quality pics.
