A friend picked up one of these bikes at the end of last year and wants to add some accessories as well as a trickle charger pigtail. I use an Eastern Beaver on my Africa Twin, but they don't make one specifically for the R1250R (yet). There is a generic version, but I was looking for something that would plug in the CAN-bus. I found he one below from HEX ezCAN and thinking about going that route. Has anyone used one of these and, if so, what is your opinion? Any other brand/model you would recommend?

What does he want to add ? As you know the Hex can is a few hundred bucks , and you set it up through the gs911 tool in some applications. Bike already has a charge port on right side tail section for the OEM BMW charger to plug into .

Thanks for the input; I wasn't aware of that port. After doing a little more checking, I understand how the trickle charger works. As for accessories, I haven't got a clear answer from her on that. I know she has one of those Carpuride navigation devices and haven't looked how she connected it. I did see there is a multiport pigtail that plugs into the charge port and it may be all she needs.

When I had the GS I ran a complete separate harness out of a fuse block for all my accessories. The carpurides I thought had a harness that is plug and play for newer BMW's.
