2026 Motorcycle Grand Tour of Texas

I pushed my trip to Navasota back a week. Have one or two non-tour riders that want to ride with me and can't make it tomorrow. Plus, the wind looks to be a lot less strong next week.

Those 4 are a pretty straight line to get.
If you need a VFW post, there is one between Washington on the Brazos and Navasota on the south side just before you get to Navasota.

Those were going to be a day trip for me, but ended up tagging them on the end of my 2 day trip from picking up the flag.

I picked p a VFW post in Poth on my run to the south.

Certainly! Last year's ROT component got me out with Phil for a week in my biggest road trip in a long while. So very nice.

This year I planned to take it easy and not sweat the full 50, but now I got my number and it makes me feel like I have to perform.
 
No replacement flag yet. I reached out to Dave asking if he got my paid invoice. I also pointed out that I was surprised there was no public shaming in the newsletter. He replied that he doesn't do that, but that perhaps he should for himself because he sent my flag to the incorrect person. Replacement should be here tomorrow from the tracking so maybe I can hit the local ones this weekend while doing some errand running.

Hoping someone is out there sending in bonuses for me though. :D
 
Heads up, just send this over to Dave for an update on the newsletter. If you are looking to do the Dallas run, Saturday might be the day to do it. Ran into some confusion between what I had in Basecamp and what Google says for Riders Biker Supply. Looks like they've already updated their google information for their new location and Saturday is the grand opening. If you needed to shop, I bet they are having some grand opening deals.

Yep. #1 is the old location, and #3 is the new one. I've never been inside, and don't suspect that will change this year.

Same here, not exactly targeted at me for merchandise, but I'm sure there are others who fit the profile. Free food though, that could entice me. :D

Good to know they are moving. Apparently google maps already has them at their new location as of 3 weeks ago when I was making routes on it.
At least it is not too far from their old location (well, would be nicer if it was closer to the other ones. :) ).
 
Yes, Dave confirmed that he's updated the address on the website as they've been there since January, but they are just having the grand opening party this week. Guess they waited till nicer weather when folks would actually ride to the grand opening.

Looks like google is updated but Garmin is behind. No surprise there.
 
Left at 0830 this morning. Was to meet a friend near Seguin. He got distracted and went on bye. We caught up about 20 minutes later. Long ride to Welcome, then a few short rides through Brenham, Washington, and on to Navasota. Had lunch in Navasota then headed home - 4 hours and change. I got home at 1830; 10 hours, 4 tour sites, and 374 miles.

It was so windy on the way to Navasota, when I tucked in to reduce the wind knocking me around, I gained 5 MPH with no change of throttle.

How was the BBQ? Been to Navasota many times and never seen this place.

The beans were excellent, the fries were not to my taste (limp and mushy), the brisket was good - would be excellent if my order of "lean brisket" didn't have a big piece of fat buried under it.
 
FYI, LoneStarRider's van was at the Riders Biker Supply grand opening. Opportunity for a twofer for those that didn't get it at the flag distribution.
