3 Medina County 250 Adventure Motorcycle Ride - Saturday, 1/20/18-Castroville, Texas

Still on and I should be pulling into Sammy's around 8:15. Haven't decided whether I'm going to grab a gas station sandwich for lunch on the trail or hit up a steakhouse for a sit-down lunch. If I do the latter I'm sure I won't finish the full route but that may be okay. Will play it by ear. :eat:

Neal, It will be great to see and ride with you again, it's been too long. I am planning to try and get to Sammy's by 8 and have some breakfast. Just planning snacks on the road for lunch. I am hoping that if we keep moving with no lengthy stops we may be able to finish before we have to head home. I made the whole ride last year. - Bill

I don't know if I will be there by 8, but I will not need to eat before we leave.
You did this last year, so you know ALL the turns!! Great.. I printed the maps and turn-by-turn and put it on my phone all for nada.. Well, we have them, just in case!
You set the pace, I try to keep up, and we will see if we make that last leg to the south. I have an alternate route that goes up to Mico if time is short.

In case anyone else wants to print turn-by-turn from Google Maps, here are links of the maps I created from Sanders map:
(Maybe there is a way to get turn-by-turn from his map.. but I don't know how without using gpx or something else).

The only difference (I think) is that I could not convince the P5 map to go down 2615 (past Paradise Canyon) instead of 271.

P 1 https://goo.gl/maps/1KbhKKMEgQm 38 miles - fuel in Devine
P 2 https://goo.gl/maps/sskg5BEeZWq 46 miles
P 3 https://goo.gl/maps/vfRJkFfrnB62 44 miles - fuel D'Hanis
P 4 https://goo.gl/maps/Nyn6jH1RmA32 86.5 miles - fuel Hondo at 55 miles- 31 miles on next leg
P 5 https://goo.gl/maps/yFVdp8YhkqQ2 39 miles

Spoke to the manager at Sammy's. She's going to set aside aside a room for us. She's more than happy to separate us from the general population. She's seen the "Wild Ones"...

Scratch me out. I have a celebration of life to attend for my ex father in law. Ya'll Be safe.

I have no idea of where we are going. I can only get there by following some one who has the route or knows the way. Yes I will put a 5 gallon can of gas in the tub, although the legs between gas stops look to be short. See you in the morning. - Bill

What time will most people depart in the morning?

Neal;

Thanks for your efforts on the paper maps! Was thinking of doing the same. I have the route in my GPS, but still like to use paper maps! Thanks again!

Made it to Hondo from Geowest. Heavy mist most of way but boots should dry on Hondo hotel heater for Saturday. About 150 mi. Got some strange looks but did see a southbound Harley . See y'all in the morning

Doesn't look like I'll make it. Too wet.
I don't mind doing dirt on street tires.. mud is another story.

Ya'll have fun and be safe.

Bill, stay in touch and we'll go riding some time.

Just made it back home. Fantastic turnout and a great ride. Thanks for putting this together!

I enjoyed meeting a bunch of you and had a great time. Can't wait for the next one!

Making some last minute plans to be there.

Saw you blasting back down 90 to nb from that regency inn from hondo when i was checking out around 5pm on your awesome a.t.
Cool meeting you and all the folks in our group.

I set mine on 80 and was back in live oak county in no time. That regency inn of Hondo let me check out after 4pm,!!! So I could get home and not burn another night. (good motel and reasonable priced)

I passed someone heading south trailering an adv bike around 3 rivers on ih37 southbound wonder if it was part of our group??(had a white poly tank)

P.s. here's some of that middleweight Africa twin talk https://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/2017/december/mini-honda-africa-twin-adventure-/
