You might not know. We have a world-class off-road motorcycle facility right here in North Houston. They have six tracks available. 2 are suited for small bikes and beginners. Three of the tracks well taken care of motorcross tracks. The brand new track, called the Woods track, was just reworked after hurricane Harvey. It is well suited towards Offroad riders. Read no jumps! My kind of track. They do have some trails ..... maybe a mile or two.

I just read Outlaw Trax is closing. Very sad. The Shnf (Forest) is closed. What to do?

Ride at 3 Palms :zen: or drive many hours. I will be riding at 3 Palms.

We also have Sterling Ranch, small but fun!

Beautiful day ... time for Supercross. FYI the Woods track is the far back on the River.

Looks like it will be a great day for Sterling Ranch or 3 Palms to test out all our new Supercross skills.

I keep meaning to check the events schedule and come out to spectate the races. Could never ride MX but sure do like to watch. Especially those fearless little tykes who have no conception of their own mortality.:rider:

I was already getting to the no mx point when a little kid on a 65 zapped me. That was enough to make me stop!

Bring that new Husky out .... that bike looks awesome.

BTW. There is nothing like being passed by a little tyke in mid air.

Too funny and true. The fast kids do not like the new Woods Track ..... no jumps!

Its a lap. not really a loop. I have not ridden the newest layout but it used to be a lot of fun!

spent a beautiful Sunday at 3 Palms day. Road mostly on the GP and the woods track... Took a couple pictures for your viewing delight on the way out.

Young guns and their flying machines! Thanks.

Spent Wednesday out there on my 1993 XR200 and had a blast. No hope of clearing a tabletop on any of the tracks but the bike is still more capable than this rider.

The woods and river track have sections of pretty deep sand. I struggle through there even though I know lots of smooth throttle is the answer. Do any of you regulars have tips for getting through those loose berms? I'd like to be able to enjoy those areas instead of dreading it each lap.

Been years since I've been there, but I used to try to carry my speed through the corner on those sandy berms of the river track. Go into the corner with momentum, lean over, and ride the berm about half way between the bottom and the top. I'm sure there are better, faster ways to do it, but that seemed the smoothest for me.

Glad you have a good time. The woods track is awesome when groomed of course. Even the main with all the jumps is awesome during the week to rail berms and flat track though flat corners.

New track at Three Palms - Sandy The Oval. We spoke to the owner yesterday. He reminded us that he is very committed for having a place for kids, beginners, older riders, new riders, kids etc. He is very passionate about getting new riders involved.

Here’s a picture of Sandy 😎

Never knew that was there. There was another MX track either there or on the other side of the river years ago. Some of the guys I raced with back in the 80s used to talk about it.
