after a hundred miles:
upgraded gas tank
oil leak
fuel leak
rear brake spongy

oil leak was the shifter shaft seal, easy fix
gas splash was the deteriorated clarke gas cap seal, fixed
still need to bleed the brake
 
after bleeding the rear brake several times, air would infiltrate the system within a few miles of riding.
replaced the master cylinder and all is well
