Okay, let us continue from the '82 XV920RH which I was involved in a hit and run from behind and left in a ditch for dead. Still no memory of that one. One second , waiting at a stop sign in a gentle rain, next second, coming too in a hospital 14 miles away. Nothing broke cept the bike, but badly bent and a concussion which cause a vertigo problem for several years so no more bikes from '86 to '92.
'92 had me getting a damaged '92 KLR 650 and fixing it to ride to work and never took any pics of it that I can find. Had over 30,000 miles on it and traded it off on a '95 BMW R11GS
Which I put about 50K miles on it
Along with it I picked up a couple DR 350 SEs which I did some of the Arkansas part of the TAT with
But, found the long trip from the TAT to home a bit more than I wanted on it so that led to a 2000 KLR 650
Which I still have and ride today.
Then wanted to try a lower BMW so traded the '95 R11GS in on a '97 R11R in 2000 and rode it about the country for about 24,000 miles
But, kept banging the bottom of the engine on rocks on the back roads of the Ozarks so decided to go back to a GS , Hence, a New 2002 R1150GS
Whick I put a bit over 50K miles on in the next 5 years and all over the country.
Also bought a DRZ400SE which I was thinking of replacing the KLR with and no pics of it either but I sold it and kept the KLR. Then in '07 I wanted something different so ended up with an '07 DL1000 after selling the '02 BMW to a friend.
Only a few trips made on this bike in the 14 or so months and plus 20 K miles I put on it including a round trip to California.
Then came the '07 Suzuki Bandit which I still have today with over 75K miles on the clock.
I did get a DR650SE for awhile but it was too different from the KLR so after about a year, it went. A pic of it along with the Bandit.
Now , at 72 years young, staying with just my two favorites The '07 1250S Bandit and the '00 KLR 650.
