My parents did eventually head out West and made a visit to see Dad's newly discovered half-sister. She also made a trip down here. I don't know how much they have kept in touch since then.
 
Wow...what an interesting thread this turned out to be. Thanks for sharing in the first place Scott. Sounds like you found some long lost family out of the deal too. Really pretty incredible.
