A Sunday at Twin Hills

Y'all have fun this time. I fly out on Sunday for work so it is probably best for me to stick to a pavement ride on Saturday.

The orange trail is getting broken in fairly well now and is a good mix of tight trail, a little bit of rocky/technical stuff, and then a smooth and flowing end to it. And it is right at 2 miles so it is a quick loop. The first half of the pink trail is still in really good shape too. Once you get through the initial rocky bit that is a quarter mile in or so, it flows really nice for quite awhile.

Raptorlander and I met up, had some fun ripping up the blue loop. Good times.

Well, it was good times once we got there, had an oopsie with the hitch hauler, my fault for not properly tying down. Got really lucky overall.

Heck, tell everyone it was from doing some crazy Hard Enduro stuff! "Went for a huge splatter, didn't make it, it was epic!, bike slid 50' down a rock face.. "

The page got hacked and no one ever put up another one. There were some Facebook posts of folks going out there today so I would probably say they are back open for business.

I won’t be there tomorrow. I’ve got other things going on.

Word on the street is that it is mostly dry but with some trails down in the bottoms are still a little wet.

Rode there for the 1st time yesterday, tried the yellow loop - how hard could it be?
**** hard!! And it was 90 degrees
Only made it half way round before I was dyin

The yellow loop is certainly no joke at all. That sucker is tough. Green is pretty tough is spots but easy in a lot of others. Pink is pretty flowy with some rock sections. And Orange is short, tight and rocky at first and then opens up to nice flowing smooth trail at the end.

Cooler temps are here. I'm still trying to find out how much rain they did or didn't get out at Twin Hills. If it isn't too soupy, then I'm hoping to be out there tomorrow morning to see if I still remember how to ride the dirt bike.

Word on the street from some folks that are already there this morning is that conditions are awesome. We plan on being there in the morning and will park near the top, hopefully on the road that goes towards the bottoms where we can find a shady spot.

Clutch parts were supposed to be here today. They are now scheduled for delivery Monday. Sigh.

That's a bummer! What is wrong with the clutch? And did SLM not have them in stock?
Ordered from Rekluse. Clutch started dragging and got worse and worse. Plates have burned on crud on them which I guess is causing them to bind.

Put the stocker stuff on, Jasen, you can use the lever, the force will help you....

Man, do they have a place to play with Trials bikes up there as well? I am waiting on my rear rack for the SWM, so I can carry spare fuel. The TRS is good to go though. I want to go get some of that Twin Hills joy, looks like fun to me.

Oh do they. They host trials events out there almost every other month, and there are certain areas that seem to almost stay perma-marked off trials courses. Then, almost every weekend there is a decent sized group of trials riders out there just practicing and whatnot.
