Post your pics and stories here.

Vinny and I watched everybody ride away. Hope you all had a good time.

The weather was near perfect, the recent rains kept the dust to a minimum, and the live music in Luckenbach was good. All in all, a great day for a ride.

Thanks to Tom and the entire crew at TJ's for sponsoring today's ride.

Mmmm biscuits with sausage gravy. A fine way to start the day.

I didn't get a headcount but it appeared to me that about 30 riders or so were at the riders meeting. We picked up half a dozen or so riders en-route bringing our total to somewhere around 35 riders.

After breaking into small groups we headed west. Throughout the morning we played leap frog with the other groups.

Hey man, peace to you too. :sun:

Any dual sport ride in the hill country includes at least one low water crossing. We enjoyed a lot more than one on today's route.

Thanks Richard for putting this dual-sport ride together. I have a little over 300 miles for the day. The route was fun and varied too! It was good meeting both new and old fellow riders. I look forward to seeing some of you in Big Bend next week.

Cheers,

RB

Here is my group just west of Fredericksburg.

Great day for a dual sport adventure! This was my first group ride, and I wanted to thank Tom for letting me tag along. He did an outstanding job as ride leader and squeezed every ounce of performance out of that KLX. Our pace was challenging but not dangerously so, although trying to keep up with Big Scott (?) on that big 690 over the dirty sections had its share of exciting moments.

Thanks again to Tom and TJ's for sponsoring the event. Although next time I may meet the group en route and bypass Austin. So when's the next ride?

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone involved! Really enjoyed the route! Definitely pushed my limits so I've got some practicing to do before the next one. Look forward to riding with everyone again soon.

A perfect day for a dual sport ride! It was surely the first day of Spring. What an eclectic mix of riders. Everyone certainly seemed to have a blast!

Trail Boss made a wrong turn? What?? We were all glad as Squaw Creek road was a gem. So good we turned around and did it twice!

This photo reminded me of my childhood.

When I was kid I lived near the Texas coast. And lots of fishermen. So I thought I would start a business selling fishing worms. I started a worm farm in my backyard and then sold the worms door-to-door in my neighborhood. My sales strategy was to knock on the front door and when someone answered the door I would introduce myself - "Hi, I'm Richard. I've got worms."

Later on I needed to make more money in order to help fund college. So I went into the seafood business in Houston. I would drive to Galveston and buy fresh seafood off the boats there. Then I would drive back to Houston and sell it. My door-to-door sales approach worked so well when I was selling worms that I decided to try the same thing selling seafood. I would knock on the door and when someone answered I would say, "Hi, I'm Richard. I've got crabs."

Here's my pics.

Had a great time. Well worth the trip from Houston. I ended up riding about 420 miles total on Saturday, I was beat by the time I got home.
Adrian and Cliff, Francois and the rest of you all, I couldn't have met nicer group of people. Hope to ride with you again.

Lots of great pictures on here. So much so that I'm embarrassed to show what I took.
But what a perfect day it was to go out riding. Weather could not have been any better. My morning started out with breaking in this new bike bought the day before...just in time for this glorious ride, I might add.

Being all excited to be riding a new bike, I showed it to JT @ TJ's. He did a quick gloss over it, then looked somewhat disappointed, and asked me why I didn't bring my scooter to the party. :lol2:  I wish I had, because the dirt roads all along the routes were smooth as glass.

Our group of six:

The store we stopped at here was CLOSED for the day! Would have been
nice to buy a snack and a soda while we stretched out legs a bit.

While stretching, a large group of sport bikers passed on through.

Lots of bikes out today, not just motorcycles, but cyclists too.

First gas stop:

Then when we got into Luckenback, JT suggested we try a local restaurant around the bend. He heard it was good, but slow to serve. Right on BOTH counts. Love the fat burgers, but really hated to have waited almost 1.5 hrs just to eat. Can't remember the name of the place, but the food's real good, for sure. Just don't expect to be served right away.

Richard, Had a great time and I enjoyed the ride. Man what great weather and awesome roads, I had a great time chasing you around the paved and non paved stuff. See you next time.

It was a lot of fun, great weather and scenery. Thanks to Richard for organizing things. Good to meet some of you whom I'd known only from posts on the forum before.

It was my first ride on the F650GS after adding some off-road worthy tires and new steering head bearings. The bike was much more fun in the dirt than before.

"Love the fat burgers, but really hated to have waited almost 1.5 hrs just to eat. Can't remember the name of the place, but the food's real good, for sure. Just don't expect to be served right away." That sounds like Alamo Springs Cafe by the Old Tunnel park
