I was wanting to talk to them about getting some suspension work done on my Desert Sled but it says phone number by referral only. Anyone here care to refer me that has used them?

Or is there anyone else local to Austin you'd recommend?

I've heard they do good work... but requiring a referral is a little strange.

I've used Roger at http://www.ororcycle.com/ and fully recommend him (at least on track / sportbikes)

Thanks guys. Agree on the referral thing being weird. He must have enough repeat business to keep him doing well. It looks like it is run out of a house like Roger's is. I've used Roger before too but think he is more suited to street but I'm looking for better offroad performance on this bike. I found the phone number so will just give him a call. I'll call Roger too and see what he thinks he can do.

I took my GSX-R 1000 K8 to him last year he did an amazing job. The man is suspension scientist. His shop in his garage is immaculate. His main focus is off road bikes so you see a lot of posts on his Facebook page about those bikes but he works on street bikes as well. He is an authorized Race Tech shop along with many other brands.

I think the way to contact him is via the website email or Facebook, and then he called me back with in a few hours of sending the mail. He will take all the data and price out the list over the phone, he will then send you a complete cost and parts list via text this is all based on the bike, type of riding, weight, height, skill level.

Once you approve it he will setup up a date on his schedule. Does it all on his phone because he always working in his garage. Once the parts show up he will lock you in for the final date, for me he had me drop off the bike, and my rear spring was missing in my parts box, he called me about 20 minutes after dropping it off, apologized, I was driving home to College Station from Austin. The spring was back ordered, but showed up 2 weeks later, and then he did all he work and had it ready to go.

He also gave me an really cool 812 Suspension hoodie for being cool about the wait. His work 100% transformed my bike.

The other Race Tech - K-Tech - suspension shop I would trust is in Houston, Patrick and Motorcycle Unlimited > where my bike is getting prepared for the track. New hoses, new used OEM radiator, Quick Action throttle, fuel light issue, and oil leak on the right side which they discovered my stator was burning up and wouldn't last much longer. Also had them do valve job on it last year.

Tell him Victor says hi, and grab a coffee outside his subdivision very good.

If you look at his FB page you can see the phone number.

My experience with 812 was a total fail, that's all I will say publicly. A fellow named Bill Deck(Motorcycle Parts Ltd) in Cedar Creek has been an offroad guru for enduro/hs riders for decades. Totally dependable, knowledgeable and trustworthy. My only choice for offroad here in TX. 512-496-7600

812 speciality is tuning dirtbikes for hare scramble, enduro racers & recreational offroad trails.
A Ducati desert sled is unique, doesn't fit 812's customer base.
HE can do it, but it would not be a bike he's familiar with.

IF it were me, I'd look for a tuner who knows & rides Ducati Mulitstrada, desert x, scrambler.
The only guy I know of who might can do suspension work on Ducati m/s & D/S is
Ken Ingham, who recently closed his business, garageinteriors.com
to open up his m/c service shop full time in Spicewood, TX.

call him, but don't tell him i sent ya his way.... :lol2:
