Personally, I prefer country out the east side of 35 to avoid traffic, and enforcement opportunities. Roads are just as nice too, unless you get all the way down by Kerrville and go on some of the twistier ones. As for police, if you speed too much, or in the wrong locations, you will pay to play just about everywhere these days.
 
Im off tomorrow but I have a mid morning appointment. And I may be thinning but adding to the herd in the afternoon.

Where are you riding to? Fredericksburg? Blanco? Fitzhugh road? Farther? If you like pastrami and are out on 290 west stop by pieous. The have good neapolitan pizza too.

Never really saw any speed traps out that way. Just meet them on the road.
