While in Williams this week, we attended the Overland Expo and a few other things. We took a drive out to Dog Canyon lake. I've never seen the like of OHV vehicles on the roads. Lots of them. Then I read Williams is like a hub for the sport. There sure is a lot of roads to explore in the area. We left early this morning and I had never seen so many of those vehicles parked at the hotel this morning. There was probably close to 40 at the hotel this morning. Yesterday, we drove down toward Jerome and I stopped and talked with a guy on a KTM 390. He lived in Alaska and has several bikes at his mother's place there in Arizona and Alaska. He has two of the 390's. One in each place. Arizona sure is a place to enjoy the adventure type sports.

My parents live in Farmington NM and it's legal in town to drive utv's. It always catches me off guard seeing them in the middle of town. Can't say they are any more street legal than many of the old jeeps that ran around back in highschool.

They had a license plate of sorts on them. From what I read, they have to be road equipped, lights, blinkers. Then, have annual $25 permit. When we drawed out for NM, I would purchase the permits online. Had to submit the make, model and serial number for a sticker.

With BLM land surrounding most towns. It makes for a great activity running around the desert.
