AUSTIN: Austin TARA: Monthly ride

Is there a planned route? I am in San Antonio. If y’all are heading to Fredericksburg, I may to catch y’all as you cross 281, if I know where that will be. Thanks.

Bill, it IS the Fredericksburg ride. I you go to the first post in this thread you can download the gpx files. Hope to see you tomorrow.

Great ride yesterday. Nearly a dozen riders. Dirt roads dry and dusty with little water for low water crossing.

The viewer does not display all of tracks/routes included in the file. Open in Mapsource/basecamp, etc.

Hey Texas Adventure Riders, I have really enjoyed riding with you all on the last 2 months rides. Unfortunately I'm heading back to Australia this week so I will miss the next couple. But I have a suggestion for you. I rode your Marble Falls ride (July) and I loved it, but you are missing one AMAZING bit of road. Cow Creek Road. Can I make a suggestion that you modify the route very slightly to add this section in. After the 3 sisters, this stretch of road is probably my favorite ride in Texas Hill Country. I've attached a screenshot showing the modification. If you haven't ridden this, I can guarantee that you will LOVE IT.

Happy riding.... See you all later in the year when I'm back.

June 1st ride - There was a rider who offered to bring up the rear as we left RR12/Hamilton Pool. Can you PM me?

Anyone doing the July 4th ride?

@Ocho

I’ll be in Austin but I don’t know yet. Route seems to be my usual NW Austin roads so no dirt afaik. Are you planning to spend the weekend down here? I’m also hesitant of group rides due to the virus.

I want to ride though.

I will be heading to Colorado Saturday morning. I will wave if I see any of you on the road.

I am doing a modified version of Webnel's Fredricksburg to Mason loop July 4. Everyone is welcome to join. One modification to Mikes track is to include Castell for a lunch stop. Also a detour to include Keyserville Rd to pay homage to the sand gods. Probably about 60% dirt. We'll meet and park at the Fredricksburg Walmart, Be ready to ride at 9AM, I will be.

Let's meet at the Fredricksburg WalMart, hwy 290 on the east end of town. I'll have my little truck and little trailer parked on the highway side of the parking lot.

I'm doing COTA on Monday, so I have to at least come down Sunday. Was thinking about bringing two bikes and extending the trip some.

Not sure I want to pray to the sand gods though...

There is an easy alternate to miss the sand pits, CR105.

edit: as I clicked the submit button, I remembered the gpx viewer only shows the first track in a file. This file does have the original track posted above and the CR105 alternate.
