Just got back from a little trip through AZ and southern Utah. Was planning on doing the AZBDR from the boarder on up but that heat streak two weeks ago and other things made me change my plans a little. Went out to Globe AZ and picked up the BDR from there. Shore was nice!! It was still a cold a few morning, bike said 28, but it was nice during the day. Anyhow that's the ride report so here's some pics if you want.

Any Marines get to go to Iwo Jima while in? I worked with a guy who got to go and he said he has know idea how those guys ran up that beach. These are from the volcano in AZ and it reminds me of the pics I've seen. It wasn't even that deep, well maybe for a 600 lb sickle, so I can only imagine what Iwo was like.

Pic didn't come out real good but that's a car down there. Been there a bit. It was a longs ways down.

Yeah that was Mogollon rim. Really nice up there but as the trees show it can get a bit windy.

Great pics! Brings back a lot of good memories from my own adventures in the same areas. I have yet to do Burr Trail though, but have done most of the rest of it. That whole area is just magical to me.

Thnks and you ain't kidding. I've read, skimmed, some of yours.. One of these days I'll take the time to do a proper one but until then I'll just post pics.

I love that southern Utah area. I went north to south on the Grand Staircase-Escalante road and when I got to the end I didn't really have a plan so I just decided to turn around and go back north. There's so many roads that go off the main road to explore. One of these days I'm going to go see where they go. This is a good time to go, or it seems so, since there wasn't much traffic. I had to turn back a couple times due to snow but I knew that was going to happen and it always seems like a different ride going back the other way so I don't mind.

I went down Burr, up Shaffer and down Moki Dugway. Didn't really plan it that way but I was riding without much of a plan anyhow. I did Schaffer on a Saturday. There were signs about some sort of Jeep meetup so there was a bit of traffic but not to bad and almost everyone seems to give space to the bikes.

I've been on the AZ BDR twice - starting in Phoenix via Apache Junction to Globe and then
heading south towards the Mex border - west to Nogales - Organ Pipes then north through Kofa;
(both time in winter)

One of my top 5 places to ride in the US - love the pictures brings back a ton of memories;

Heading out there this coming winter for 3? months.
