I looked for all of 3 minutes and I don't see a BMW Thread so I'm starting one right here and right now...:zen:

Now that TravelDiva and I are all "Beam'd Up" we are feeling the need to converse with like minded riders. I had the good fortune to score a great deal on a replacement shock for my new to me 06 Dakar and just had to tell the world..

Yay Me!

Re: Beam Me Up..,...

Given how many of us ride Beemers, it is kind of amazing that we don't have any kind of dedicated threads.

I just sold my 05 1200GS and now have an 07 1200GS. Used to have an 02 1150GS. I just love the GS bikes and the boxer motors in general.

Your Dakar is the 650 thumper ? Got pics?

Re: Beam Me Up..,...

and then there were two..

While replacing my shock today I greased the swingarm and linkage assembly. Not too difficult to do alone at all. I'm looking forward to our Sonic run later tonight to check out how it feels.:rider:

I'm in too. On my third boxer now. I've left BMW and comeback twice now. Think I'm sticking with it this time.

I guess I'm addicted:

1972 LWB R75/5 (second time around on ownership)
1984 R100RS (owned from new)
1999 R1100S (Fell in love on first sight, yellow & silver)
2002 R1150RT (long ranger)

1984 E-28 533i
1988 E-28 M5

AND we don't have to worry about loud cruiser types wrecking the peaceful setting either. :nana:

I even have one , never thought I'd see the day , A X Challenge , but it's for sale . I made a deal on it before the 950 SE offer came along . I needed something a little lighter and not quite as bulky as the adventure . SEYA

I will give you that you won't have the loud cruisers ruining your peaceful setting. I'm not one of the loud cruiser types. Stock exhaust for as I have better things to buy....[emoji509][emoji507][emoji487][emoji489] etc

Love my GSA, went from a R1150GS to a K1200LT and back to a 2009 R1200GSA, a joy to ride!! All I need is more time to ride!

I kinda like mine but we'll see after I drop mine off tomorrow cuz it is leakin gas and the recall fix was already done 10/14. Good news, I can get wheel flange recall do be at the same time.

I now have 3 05RT, 02R, 07F800s, have had 6 over the years, they all have been good bikes, however just got a KTM 690 Duke-------insane!:eek2:
But a very well made bike, no frills, just all that is needed.

TravelDiva and I made a trip up to Austin to Cuz'n Bob's for a little check out of her f650g and all is well. It will need the steering bearings replaced and the correct battery in it but other then that it checkout aok. Loved meeting Bob and will take our scoots to him exclusively for now on for anything I can't handle myself. Which is pretty much anything inside the motor...;-)
