While lubing rear spline on the GSA. This part fell from somewhere. Can't find where it goes. Lol. Does anyone know what this is and where it goes back in.

Could it be road debris? Looks like it is “part” of a part. The smaller diameter looks like it had more material on it.

Wouldn't think so. But I'm stumped. Put everything back together and then notice this rubber piece. It wasn't greasy so I know it didn't come out of internals of drive shaft.

its the vent for the rear bevel box . Easy to knock off cleaning rear wheel with a rag
Hey Bryan. Hope ur enjoying vacation. Wanted to holler at ya but didn't want to intrude. Vacations are special. Thanks for info. Man I put everything thing together. Saw this part. Been over everything with flashlight couldn't see any place it goes. Guess I'll take off wheel and caliper see if it reveals itself. Lol.

it can be put on with wheel in place

I'll be darn. Man that thing is hidden unless you know it's there. Thanks Bryan.
IMHO if that part is that important BMW would have made a better fastening system. I'll be checking that vent after each ride for awhile. If it comes out I'll be rigging something else.
