He bought a firearm (Wrist Rocket) to hunt the squirrels. He target practiced on the camp sign. When he hit it, it would ricochet in all directions. But he got good enough to hit one on the tail.

Then the hippies showed up and stacked rocks. Jeff has a good arm and could nail them with a rock, then they fall.
