CMRA Roadracing Event Information

I will be racing in 5, 13, 14, and maybe 21.
Go for it! You're close to home, you know you want to stick-around for those laps in MC ;-)

For the TWT visitors.... please stop by the racer registration office (first floor of the only 2-story building at MSR) to introduce yourselves; I'm the only 'guy' working there, can't miss me, it'd be great to put faces with the handles I see on this forum. Relax a bit in some cool air (it's the only AC'd space on-site ;-)) and head upstairs to the balcony for a great view of the track.

See ya at the races :rider:

The CMRA will hold its 10th and final round of the 2014 season at Texas World Speedway in College Station on November 1-2.

The Saturday schedule includes Mini/Grom and Lightweight Class sprint races, a 2-hour Lightweight Class Endurance race and a 4-hour Big-Bike Endurance race.

Sunday we'll have the full slate of 21 sprint races for all classes of big-bike machines with the "spectator lap of the track" (on your street bike) during the lunch break.

Alan, I sure hate to miss this, but our LSBMW appreciation BBQ is Nov1.

I certainly understand that priority and hope all of the LSBMW 'family' have a great event. Unlike the LSBMW farewell there will be at least one more CMRA event at TWS in March of '15.

So, have fun, and give Robert and all the LSBMW folks the appreciation they so rightly deserve.

Thanks, Lone Star, for your support of racers and the motorcycling community in Austin, Texas and beyond for so many wonderful years!

Just for fun .... CMRA racer Dave Felio's GoPro compilation from 2014 (with one more to go ;-) )

Film subject Ron Mears' wife Suzie is also a CMRA racer ... seen in the film, Suzie was recovering from a collarbone break at the time but will be back on the track in '15 :thumb:

Ron came in 10th overall among CMRA Experts at the end of the '14 season (out of 133 Experts that earned championship points)

I'd really like to attend several of these for 2015, but only if I was able to secure the 'blue vest' with total access to shoot it...... :photo:

Barry's your contact for info on that, when the season actually gets underway .... much too early now .... he takes a serious break from his CMRA support work during the off season.

:zen:

I'll try him again, but my last email went unanswered.....

I will try him too, maybe he will remember me from Tulsa's "uh oh" this year.

On a side note Alan. the Dental Hygienist that took care of me recently is a current CMRA member and racer. Small world!

Get PAID to Watch Racing ...

Good News! For 2015, the pay rate for CMRA corner workers has been increased to $80 per-day CASH!

We are still in need of corner workers for our first round at MSR Houston - February 13-15, 2015. We are very short of corner workers. Please check with friends and family to see if they would like to come watch racing and get paid to do it!

Click Here to go to the online Corner Worker sign up page - You Do Not Need to Register to Post on this Special Forum for Corner Worker Sign-Up

Friday, Saturday and Sunday corner working is available at this event and all days count toward Prov Nov requirements (must have PN License, no pay for PN credit).

As a reminder, corner workers receive a free weekend gate pass*, free lunch on the (days) you work and paid corner workers receive $80 cash per day. (*Your name will appear on a list when you arrive at the gate. In order to get your free gate pass, be sure to let the gate staff know that you're corner working when you arrive.)

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

If anyone is out here at MSR Houston this weekend, swing by and say hi. I am in the mesh covered paddock, spot 6, bike #789.

Alan, do you know off-hand what the gate fee is per day to get in to watch? I don't recall if it was just parking of some nominal amount or a full blown entry fee.

I might try to come down for this and see if Barry will give me a blue vest again.

Scott - the fees on the Flyer are what everyone pays to enter the event (spectator and participant). We don't have a 'one-day' armband for Thursday, Friday or Saturday if you arrive in a cage. However, the $5/person/day for folks entering the gate on a street bike is good on Saturday and Sunday.

BTW, it fell-off the updated flyer with the added USNE announcement but we still have a spectator lap-of-the-track scheduled for Sunday during the lunch break (absent race delay due to weather or red flag). This escorted low-speed group-lap on your street bike will be your last chance to see TWS from the racer perspective.
:rider:

UPDATE: The 8-hour CMRA Championship Endurance Race will also be round 1 of the 2015 US National Endurance Series. That series was a joint venture of CMRA & WERA last year but WERA has dropped endurance from it's schedule completely in '15 :(

We expect some great national teams to join us for the TWS finale including Army of Darkness and BEI Racing for some down-to-the-wire endurance excitement on Saturday March 21st.
