Dakar? Anyone paying attention to it this year?

Stage 13 of Lyndon Poskitts "Race to Dakar" is pretty entertaining. If you like riding in sand, this is about as sandy as it gets! :)

Some cool history that set the stage for our current line up of adventure bikes,

Dean Tangi posted this to his page yesterday:

Carroll Walker and I attended the celebration party for the first ever USA winners in the Dakar Rally. For the past 40 years of the rally, no American has ever won this competition. Casey Currie of Corona won in the side-by-side vehicle class and Ricky Brabec of Hesperia taking the motorcycle category. The event was tonight at Baja HQ in San Juan Capistrano, CA.

Approx 200+ Dakar fans, family, crew and team members. The event was totally hosted. Burgers by In and Out and ice cream by Archie’s. We got commemorative pint glass by Method Race Wheels and fine crafted beer from Docent Brewery. Inside was a fully hosted bar.

Pretty much everybody involved in the Dakar over the past years was honored on stage.
- Welcome Scot Harden - Former US Dakar racer and hero
- Can-Am’s Phil Henderson
- Honda’s Bill Savino
- Johnny Campbell
Congratulations Casey and Ricky!

Carroll with Ricky Brabec, winner of the Dakar2020 Motorcycle competition. Both winners were friendly and very approachable.

All these guys raced in the past and present Dakar Rallies and are the top US desert racers.

The In-N-Out Burger wagon was here. We arrived early, there was no line. We both ordered Double-Doubles with onions. There's something special about a Double-Double with beer! Within 30 minutes the line was much longer. We were surprised the Double-Doubles were free! Same with the beer.

In case you weren't aware, the CEO of In-n-Out is a young woman; I think she is the grand-daughter of the founder and she is a big racing fan so it's no surprise that she would support something like this.
